@CPuite@SimonCalder Harwich-Holland you say? Then I see there is a ferry from Italy to Spain.... where there's a will there's a way. I feel physically sick over this. Can't quite get my head around it
@SimonCalder@CPuite Hi Simon, I have Spanish residencia card, Spanish driving licence, only home in Spain and job in Spain but a British passport.... does that not give me rights to return home with my car? I cannot get a ferry as have a dog and there is zero availability for many months..
@Lynn_Nothegger@bruno1cat@UKinFrance I feel physically sick. As it stands I am stuck here until the end of the year due to lack of pet accommodation on limited ferries
P&O Ferries and Eurotunnel say changes to Covid rules were made by the French on Tuesday, meaning British people can no longer travel through France by road to reach their homes within the EU. https://t.co/i1cYdaJbMX
@NicBoothby Yes but why has there been no announcement whatsoever from the French government about that and why is their ambassador saying nothing has changed since 18th Dec? Surely if they changed the rules their website would reflect it and they would make an announcement.....
@bruno1cat@UKinFrance Already looked at that one, certainly would make for a fun road trip :-) but still have to go through France, unless there is a ferry from Italy to Spain....
@PaulMorris7777 Well, I beg to differ.. why are French officials saying the original rules (as of a week or so ago) still stand and there has been no change? Yet UK advise no road travel for EU residents with British passports.... cue confusion 🤦♀️
@sdkb82@montaillacman@UKinFrance You're looking at an average of £400 one way to Spain, assuming that is where you are headed..... lots of ferries available but nothing for pets for many months
@montaillacman@UKinFrance Just took another look... no pet accommodation availability right through the year, not even cages it seems, as I'd happily spend the night in the cage with my dog if that was only option! Oh well
@sdkb82@montaillacman@UKinFrance Not likely, if anything the prices will go up given people being backed into a corner.... I'm having a look now and will report back
@montaillacman@UKinFrance Thanks Phil. I looked on there last night and couldn't find one ferry until beyond the summer with room for pets... I also need a pet cabin as he can't be caged due to past trauma... fingers crossed, I will look again
@AmbColonna @ConsulFranceUK@FranceintheUK Can you please clarify why the UK gov website displays: The French government have indicated that UK nationals travelling from the UK who are not resident in France will not be permitted to transit France to return to their country of residence unless they are travelling by air.
