Friends! I’m in need of some emergency help. Looking for an associate to start asap until Tuesday next week. Just a few rehearsal days and then 2 days of tech and 1 preview and then Press. Paid but not spectacularly. If anyone knows anyone let me know.
@Belabab3 @ItsEmilyKaty I would agree it’s probably texture from experience. Family member of mine will eat cheese on pizza too but not any other circumstances. It’s the ‘creamy’ texture it has normally apparently.
@KilgoreCW @TenshiHime13 @amakamahoora Commenter is unlikely to be in UK as they refer to the ER. We don’t call it that here - we generally call it A&E ( accident & emergency) or sometimes casualty.
Having a relaxing day, reading Picard: Second Self by @unamccormack Half way through at the moment and it’s fantastic! Definitely recommend to any Star Trek (spoiler and Garak) fans.
@TheStage The theatre world is really, really bad at safeguarding and HR. Having worked in other industries as a producer before moving into theatre, there is no way an organisation in another sector would get away with being as lax as theatre is.
CW: sexual abuse, violence, suicide, child abuse
How did theatremaker Chris Goode avoid scrutiny for so long? In a Long Read, Lyn Gardner talks to survivors and asks how such widespread abuse was able to occur https://t.co/CUgOUSxZOj
Protests are sweeping Iran & women are burning their hijabs after the death last week of Mahsa Amini, following her arrest by the “morality police”. Human rights groups say at least 8 have been killed. Last night, I planned to ask President Raisi about all this and much more. 1/7
@widar01@peterboghossian Oh boy... okay, thanks. Is any of that in the book or did that happen after it was written, so it's still a good read? (tbh, I've already bought and it's on my Kindle 'to-read list', so... kinda hoping it is)
@widar01@peterboghossian Same, I was thinking about reading this book after it was rec'd. What makes you say that Drak Doraleous please? Can you be more specific? 'Off the deep end' is bit too vague to go look up online?
@MaiddeOrleans@jonathanishere@Jessica_Whitney Right, okay, thank you for clarifying: I guess that's a reasoned position and it is probably correct to be distrustful of the language used.
"The sheer energy and pace, however, overcome most objections in what is an enjoyable satirical production."
Many thanks to @AllEdinTheatre for their review of #ADJ. We were delighted to have them in attendance!
If you like what you read; we're back up on Saturday! #EdFringe
This year I’ve read or judged six competitions and read hundreds of pieces. I said I’d do a thread of things to pay attention to before submitting. So. Yeah. Here’s an awfully opinionated 🧵 written hot, posted cool.
