Next week, I will be taking 3 students and 2 teachers to Rome, Italy, all expenses paid by me.

All visas have been issued and all arrangements have been sorted.

The students will represent Nigeria in the Maths and Science categories of the International STEM Olympiad.

They will compete alongside 154 other countries.

The students who won the 2026 South East Maths Olympiad and the teachers who supported them are going. Both the teachers and the students will experience growth together.

I will continue to push our bright minds to global stages.

In 10 years, I pray you will be alive to see the outcome of our investments in our children today.

Nigeria has now been delisted from the International Maths Olympiad, whose finals are happening in Shanghai, China, this July.

It is one of the most prestigious academic competitions in the world.

Nigeria can now only participate as an observer nation, while other countries can participate fully.

This was because of the Ministry of Education’s inability to fund students for 4 consecutive years through National Mathematical Center.

It’s a big shame for Nigeria.

Here are the winners of the Sterling Bank Maths Quiz.

This morning, we hosted a physically supervised live quiz for the Top 10 finalists to determine the ultimate winners.

Last night’s live finale was intense and highly competitive. However, we observed some anomalies that raised concerns about the integrity of the results.

To ensure absolute fairness, transparency, and credibility, we immediately deployed vetted invigilators to supervise an impromptu follow-up assessment for all Top 10 finalists.

After the supervised examination, 3 outstanding students from St. Gregory’s College Ikoyi, Lagos emerged as the winners, securing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions.

Integrity is everything.

The purpose of this competition is not just to reward brilliance, but to ensure that every child believes hard work, preparation, and honesty will always prevail.
