𝑱𝒖𝒃𝒂, 12𝒕𝒉 𝑱𝒖𝒏𝒆 2026— Yesterday, 𝑯.𝑬. 𝑫𝒓. 𝑹𝒂𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒅 𝑲𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒍, Chief Executive Officer of the Ethiopian Federal Housing Corporation, accompanied by a high-level delegation, paid a historic visit to my office in Juba. The meeting was also attended by 𝑯.𝑬. 𝑬𝒎𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒖𝒆𝒍 𝑨𝒅𝒊𝒍, Governor of Central Equatoria State, and his 𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒑𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝑺𝒘𝒂𝒌𝒂, Mayor of Juba City Municipality.

The discussions focused on the urbanization and modernization of Juba, examining its current development status, future vision, and the challenges and opportunities associated with rapid urban growth. Key areas of engagement included affordable housing initiatives, infrastructure development, sustainable urban planning, community participation, and potential avenues for collaboration between #SouthSudan and #Ethiopia.

Dr. Rashad Kamal and I also reflected on the longstanding historical ties between Ethiopia and #SouthSudan, emphasizing the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in infrastructure and housing development.

As part of the visit, the #Ethiopian delegation toured ten strategic sites across Juba City identified for potential infrastructure and housing projects in partnership with the Government of Central Equatoria State. The visit underscored a shared commitment to transforming Juba into a modern, sustainable, and inclusive urban center capable of meeting the needs of its growing population.

The engagement marks a significant step toward fostering regional cooperation and advancing urban development initiatives that will contribute to economic growth and improved living standards for the people of South Sudan.

𝐉𝐮𝐛𝐚, 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 — At the site of the Custom market I was left speechless as I witnessed firsthand the aftermath of a devastating fire. The intensity of the blaze was still palpable, and its heat could still be felt at the scene, leaving a lasting impression on all present.

My thoughts and prayers are with all the affected traders, and families.

During our engagement, the SSCAA Director General outlined the key achievements, current progress, and planned improvements aimed at elevating airport operations and ensuring safer, more efficient aviation services for the country.

I, reiterated the importance of continued collaboration to support #SouthSudan’s growing aviation sector and the broader national infrastructure agenda to meet International Civil Aviation Standards (SARPs, and PANS) in conformity with ICAO .

I, reiterated President Salva Kiir Mayardit’s commitment to strengthening peace and advancing inclusive governance nationwide.

Governor Dollar welcomed the engagement, noting that it reflects the presidency’s continued focus on Upper Nile State’s progress and ongoing challenges.
