The most irritating statement to the far right sheep by Ms. Nyoun that has sunk so deep and made them uncomfortable and reflect on is when she said We are living at a time when the west is ceasing to be at the centre of the world.
No reality has ever hit those folks so hard.
Unless the decision to remove professor Akok is intended to create a crisis within the Election Commission as a basis for calling off the December elections, the move was not misguided, miscalculated and reckless.
Two accomplished East African women are preparing to represent their countries on two of the world’s biggest pageant stages: Miss Universe and Miss World.
Mitchelle Daka, who was crowned Miss Universe Uganda 2026, will represent Uganda at the Miss Universe competition in Puerto Rico, while Nyandeng Bol will proudly represent South Sudan at Miss World.
In a major boost to her confidence, President Salva Kiir recently welcomed Nyandeng to the State House, J1, where he encouraged her to represent South Sudan with pride and distinction.
Gone are the days when parents and society viewed women who participated in pageants as spoiled or unruly. The world has changed, and opportunities now come in many forms. Modern pageants are not merely about beauty; they also provide platforms for education, leadership, entrepreneurship, advocacy and community service.
Nyandeng holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Community Studies and is pursuing a master’s degree in immigration law in the United States. Mitchelle, meanwhile, is an international model and entrepreneur.
These are two educated, ambitious and accomplished young East African women doing extraordinary things and proudly carrying their national flags onto the global stage.
And just a by the way question. Between Mitchelle and Kimberly who do you really think deserved the Uganda Miss Universe crown??
So we are 4 months into December 22nd, the election day. No funding for elections, no staff, no ballots papers and boxes, no nothing. Only the country waiting for a miracle. What an interesting elections 🤔
As we approach elections and continue our journey toward becoming a democracy, the government must provide meaningful space for opposition parties and dissenting voices.
Democracy does not develop overnight. It takes time, patience and a gradual commitment to embracing the principles of democratic governance. One of those essential principles is the freedom to disagree.
Democracy cannot thrive without opposition and dissent. In a democratic society, people will complain, challenge decisions, demand better leadership and rarely agree on every issue. That is not a weakness; it is democracy in action. The guiding principle is simple: the minority must be allowed to have its say, while the majority has its way.
However, the country also needs a responsible opposition one that does not oppose everything the government does merely for the sake of opposing. A credible opposition should acknowledge and applaud good government actions while firmly challenging harmful policies, poor decisions and failures in governance.
A healthy democracy requires both a tolerant government and a responsible opposition. The government must listen without silencing criticism, and the opposition must criticize constructively while offering practical alternatives. That is how democratic institutions mature and the nation moves forward.
It looks like the South Sudan government has entered an agreement with kenya's Royal Media Service (RMS) for all its 2026 political communications to be aired through the CITIZEN Television
Bak is being fired at the wrong time. The country is just headed to pass a new budget and this stage requires institutional leadership stability. Kiir’s intentions might be good but the timing is terrible 😞
@citizentvkenya Tell Babu no one should distract them by creating the narrative that he is being over powered by Sifuna. You are fighting for Kenya. Babu is just equally important in this Liberation as Sifuna, Orengo, Caroli, and the rest. This is a movement of equals with different strengths
Achai Wiir is allegedly sick and at her lowest and people disappeared around her because apparently she has no money like she had before. The most disturbing question is how can Achai lose her fortune in less than two years? What was the source of her money?
The Presidency of South Sudan demands an increase in their budget for the financial year 2025/2026. If approved tge presidency which has over 2300 staff positions will be allocated over 32 billion SSP. An increase of 38% from the last year's 23 billion.
The removal of ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna will with no doubt shape the politics of Kenya for 2027. ODM appears to be led to abyss and will be left their with no one they will look upto. Baba Was ODM and ODM became SIFUNA and Now?
Did you know economic wise South Sudan was better off in 2011 than today?
The country’s Gross Domestic Product per capita is now just a quarter of what it was in independence.
Foreign donors spend much on basic service on South Sudanese than the government
