Na decennia van onderinvestering moeten we investeren in veiligheid. Dat betekent niet dat elke uitgave goed is, maar ook niet dat elke investering in defensie fout of immoreel is. Het debat verdient meer nuance en minder slogans. #defensie#defence

Happy #VyshyvankaDay 🇺🇦
More than embroidery, the vyshyvanka is a symbol of Ukrainian identity, heritage, resilience and the connection between generations.
Today we celebrate Ukrainian culture and all those proudly wearing and sharing it across the world. 💙💛
Happy Vyshyvanka Day! 🇺🇦
Today, Ukrainians around the world and friends of Ukraine are wearing vyshyvankas to honour one of the most iconic and recognisable Ukrainian traditions.
Every ornament and regional pattern of Ukrainian embroidery forms part of Ukraine’s rich cultural heritage. The vyshyvanka embodies the connection between generations of Ukrainians and remains one of the most important symbols of Ukrainian identity.
Vyshyvanka Day has also become a way to promote Ukraine globally and has grown into an international cultural phenomenon. That is why this celebration, founded by Lesia Voroniuk in 2006, was recognised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine during the “Honorary Ambassador of Ukraine” ceremony in the Cultural Heritage category.
Thank you to everyone who proudly wears the Ukrainian vyshyvanka, helping preserve and share Ukrainian culture and telling Ukraine’s story to the world.

Victory Day reminds us that peace, freedom, and democracy can never be taken for granted. At a time when war and security threats have once again returned to Europe, we must continue to defend these values with unity, solidarity, and respect for human dignity.
What Trump is doing goes beyond rhetoric — it reshapes @NATO into a transactional deal. Europe can’t stay surprised. Time to take defence seriously and diversify partnerships, incl. #Canada. Wake-up call. @EU_Commission@eu_eeas https://t.co/WslVeiqKcd
After ~40 days on the front line, soldiers can develop apathy and lose concern for survival, warns Ukraine’s Military Ombudsman Olha Reshetylova, via @KyivIndependent .
Not just welfare — operational effectiveness.

Nikos Christodoulides is right: Article 42.7 TEU must be operational. European solidarity cannot stay theoretical. Strengthening the European pillar within NATO means readiness, credibility, and responsibility.
