“We are in opposition, we don’t need facts. We need to propagate. If you speak as an opposition General Secretary, National Security must meet.”
—Aspiring NPP General Secretary Sylvester Tetteh has outlined what he believes should be expected of a General Secretary while the party is in opposition.

The NPP Health Policy Committee sets the records straight on the Afari Hospital Project and calls Kennedy Agyapong to order.
The NPP Policy Committee on Health has released the official, documented timeline and financial breakdown of the Afari Military Hospital project.
This addresses commentary started by Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, who claimed the administration did nothing in 8 years.
Here is the exact chronology and the undeniable facts:
1. Between 2008–2013: The hospital was first contracted for a site at Sofoline, Kumasi. It underwent multiple site relocations before finally settling at Afari.
2. In 2014, Physical construction officially began at the Afari site.
3. In December 2016, after years of delays, physical construction stood at just 40% completion.
4. Between 2017 – 2024, under the NPP administration, the project transitioned into an accelerated phase, advancing steadily from the 40% baseline. As of September 2024, key infrastructure benchmarks reached near-completion:
a. Civil works on the core hospital: 97.5%
b. Core hospital facility overall: 92.5%
c. Architectural works: 87%
d. On-site road networks: 80%
e. Landscaping & Support facilities (including staff housing): 77%
5. By January 2025 overall project completion officially hit 98%. Suggestions that the facility stands at 60% are completely false.
6. On the Financial Status, the original US$180 million contract sum (financed by loan) has been paid in full.
7. The US$19.3 million for earlier relocation delays has also been paid in full.
8. Out of a negotiated US$3 million extra claim, US$2.5 million has been paid.
9. The only amount outstanding to the contractor is US$500,000, NOT the US$85 million being claimed by some officials.
10. Per Article 4 of the Party's Constitution, all senior members—including Hon. Kennedy Agyapong—are reminded that public commentary must rest strictly on established facts.
If any member disagrees, the proper course of action is to raise the matter internally through the Party's official channels where it can be tested against the records, rather than airing unverified claims in public.
11. The objective remains clear: settle the remaining US$500,000, complete the final minor balance of works, and hand over this 500-bed facility to serve the Ghana Armed Forces and the people of the Ashanti Region.

When the Church Seeks Relevance, It Loses Reverence – Popularity is the Death of Power
Introduction
There is a deadly exchange taking place in modern churches, and most folks are too busy clapping, branding, filming, and measuring attendance to notice the glory leaving. The church wants to be relevant. That is the polished word. Relevant. It sounds harmless, practical, compassionate, and strategic. Who wants to be irrelevant? Who wants to speak in a way nobody understands? Who wants to ignore the condition of the age? But underneath that word, many churches have smuggled in a rotten bargain. They have traded reverence for relevance, holiness for popularity, doctrine for atmosphere, conviction for comfort, preaching for performance, prayer for programming, and the fear of God for the fear of man. The result is a church that knows how to draw a crowd but not how to shake a conscience. It knows how to entertain goats but not feed sheep. It knows how to impress the world but not grieve over sin. It knows how to use lights, music, stories, branding, and emotional manipulation, but it no longer knows how to tremble before a holy God with an open Bible.
The Bible says, “God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him” (Psalm 89:7). That verse would ruin a lot of modern church planning meetings. God is not presented there as a mascot for a religious event. He is not a brand image. He is not a stage prop. He is not the theme of the weekend experience. He is greatly to be feared. Reverence is not dead formality. Reverence is not cold ritual. Reverence is not stiff-necked tradition. Reverence is the proper trembling awareness that the God of Heaven is holy, His words are pure, His Son’s blood is precious, His Spirit can be grieved, His judgment is real, and His church is not ours to redesign after the appetites of the age. A church can be alive, warm, joyful, singing, preaching, evangelizing, and full of zeal while still being reverent. But once reverence is gone, the energy that remains may be nothing more than religious flesh with a microphone.
Popularity is the death of power when popularity becomes the goal. The church that seeks to be liked by the world will eventually become shaped by the world. The preacher who craves applause will eventually shave off the sharp edges of the Book. The congregation that wants to be acceptable will eventually become ashamed of doctrines that make the world uncomfortable. The service that is designed primarily around the visitor’s comfort will eventually stop confronting the visitor’s lost condition. Jesus Christ did not say, “Woe unto you, when all men shall misunderstand you.” He said, “Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you!” (Luke 6:26). That verse still stands. When the world that crucified Christ starts applauding the church, the church had better examine what changed. The world did not become holy. The church probably became harmless.
Chapter One: Relevance Becomes Dangerous When It Replaces Reverence
There is a right kind of plainness in ministry. A preacher should speak so people can understand. Nehemiah 8:8 says they “read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.” That is good ministry. Make the truth clear. Explain the words. Apply the doctrine. Do not hide behind religious fog. But biblical clarity is not the same as worldly relevance. The preacher’s job is not to make God seem acceptable to the age. The preacher’s job is to declare God’s word to the age whether the age accepts it or not. Relevance becomes dangerous when it stops being about clarity and starts being about approval.
The modern church often says it wants to be relevant, but what it really means is that it does not want to be rejected. It wants the world to think it is cool, intelligent, compassionate, artistic, culturally aware, and socially acceptable. So it begins
