We’re reducing the number of international students coming to Canada to a sustainable level by:
• capping and reducing international student study permits
• increasing acceptance letter review to prevent fraud
• raising financial requirements to better prepare students

As a result, 88,617 fewer new students arrived between January and June 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.
