Learn about the amazing good news of God’s grace - Worship with us Sundays at 10:30am at Rivendell School, 2410 N. Kensington St., #Arlington#VA or online.
Here’s to a Weekend of Living As Though …
· Our Father loves us as much as much as loves Jesus
· We have eternal life and citizenship in heaven
· God is working in ALL things for our good
· Jesus is ruling the world with truth and grace
· We're destined to be 100% like Jesus
Do you know him [Jesus] as the One who demonstrated his love and friendship for you by thus dying? Is he your friend in that sense? https://t.co/tEKBfMmNq4
God is intent on removing the remaining imperfections from your heart. This may be an uncomfortable or even painful process, but it's all done in love. Today, you will experience the loving hand of God through the process of personal heart transformation. Will you embrace it, or will you reject it?
New morning mercy means that when we stumble, we don't need to run, hide, or shift the blame. God has already taken care of it. Instead of rising to our own defense, we can admit weaknesses and rest in the shed blood of Christ.
God isn't content to leave you as simply forgiven; no, "he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6, ESV)
I no longer live weighted down.
I no longer am haunted by my guilt.
I no longer live in the darkness of shame.
I no longer run and hide from you.
I have been liberated by the power of grace,
free now to worship and celebrate you.
“May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance” (2Thess.3:5). We may be unclear about the Lord's will in looming decisions; but we can be 100% certain he is leading us into more of Abba’s love for us and Jesus’ unwavering faithfulness to us. Whew!
Today, in some capacity, you will fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). Chances are, you already did! We need to be forgiven, and God provides his most significant mercy on the Cross of Christ (Romans 3:24-25).
On Tuesday evenings it’s generally a good idea to:
· Reset your gaze on Jesus, more so than on things buggin’ you
· Spend the currency of God’s grace on others (and yourself)
· Remember Jesus won’t sleep tonight, so you can
In the “all things through Christ” category, let’s…
· Enjoy the Lord and glorify him on this June Tuesday
· Trust Jesus with our health, finances, and relationships
· Listen to the Spirit tell us of our belovedness (Rm.8:16)
· Look for ways to encourage/serve those around us
Onesies to Live By
“One thing I know. I was blind now I see!” (Grateful Man Jn.9:25)
“One thing I do. I live heavenward” (Paul Phil.3:13)
“One thing I desire from God—to gaze on his beauty” (King David Ps.27:4)
“One thing is necessary—intimacy with me” (Jesus Lk.10:42)
Let me remind and encourage you again: God is sovereign; you and I aren't. This isn't just theology we should proclaim on Sunday; it must be the foundation of our identity every day of the week. God is in absolute control, and he's infinitely good.
Jesus is himself our example as we obey his command to love one another. It is not just that we are to love. It is that we are to love as he loved us. His love is to be the full measure of our love for one another. https://t.co/2DW52IQS3h
