Leadership doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to be real. It’s not about what it looks like. It’s about caring for those you lead, putting your people first, giving credit to others for successes, but standing up in the face of mistakes. Take care of people, not appearances.
It’s not up to your parents/friends/coaches to decide how far you go in your sport. Your support system will advise you, guide you & they help hold you accountable, but it’s on you to deliver. Stop making excuses. It’s your responsibility to find time & put in the work! Period.
6 reasons to go for it.
1. Life is too short to do things you dislike
2. It’s not all or nothing
3. Who cares what other people think
4. You are strong enough to do hard things
5. Doing what you love makes success more likely
6. When you are brave God rewards you
Game day = only 5% of your actual performance. 95% is preparation, practicing & improving. Everyone loves to perform on game day, but more important is how you are using the 95% that prepares you for games. What’s done as a team & individually will be 100% revealed during the 5%!
Don't store that Halloween costume away just yet! Put it to use one more time tomorrow evening at our final home match of the season against the other purple team.
The value of sports is that they BUILD your character. The reality is that they will also REVEAL your character. Nobody’ll remember how many points you scored, but they’ll remember how hard you worked/what kind of teammate you were. Like it or not, your character is your legacy!
