The Court of Appeal has acquitted and discharged former Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu, overturning her earlier conviction and 10-year prison sentence.
The appellate court set aside the previous judgment after ruling that the prosecution failed to prove the charges against her beyond reasonable doubt.
Her legal team had argued that the charges were fundamentally flawed and that the evidence presented was insufficient to support the convictions. As a result, the Court of Appeal cleared her of the offences for which she had previously been convicted.
