@XavierLamarWar2@bucketseats007@GenericIsTaken@DevanHoffer@domthebomb I don’t think so at all. My first play-through took 20hrs and I loved every single minute of it. As did a lot of people. I don’t think it was poorly written at all. In fact, I think quite the contrary. But some people didn’t like it, and that’s fine — not everybody has to.
@bucketseats007@GenericIsTaken@DevanHoffer@domthebomb I think that’s one of the greatest and saddest parts of the story! She never actually knew why — She only assumed. I’m sick of stories in games, books, movies and shows always having happy endings and “getting closure”. Because that’s not how life really goes a lot of the time.
@StockPile_Bob@DevanHoffer@domthebomb I feel that it was Abbey who broke the cycle though. Ellie couldn’t let it go & she lost everything because of it. Abbey did let it go; She let Ellie go. Twice. And then Ellie STILL went to find her & Abbey STILL refused to fight Ellie. & only then did Ellie stop (maybe…?)
@GenericIsTaken@DevanHoffer@domthebomb I think it was the perfect time. Don’t get me wrong, Joel was my favourite character. But it made all of Ellie’s memories with him (the museum scene, in particular) that much more emotional knowing he was gone. & finding out that they had *the* conversation, right at the end 😚🤌🏻
@StockPile_Bob@DevanHoffer@domthebomb That’s the point? Abbey nearly killed Ellie, twice. But she chose to end the cycle of violence. Ellie couldn’t let it go & she lost everything because of it. She lost her family, her home, even her ability to play guitar. Both Abbey & Ellie became two different versions of Joel.
@Ominouss__ It is! Aussies get 4 weeks of paid annual leave per year worked… and I’ve taken none in a long time, so I have heaps to use… do you guys not get the same?!? 😮
