This huge softie of a dog was spotted on the streets of Thailand with what we initially thought was a minor injury. We caught him and locals told us he used to have owners but they left him behind to live on the streets.

When we got him in the truck we knew it was bad from the smell. His tail was infested with maggots and the vets say it’s so bad that he will lose part of it if not all his tail. He also has horrendous skin, lots of internal issues and eye problems but everything is fixable.

Sam was on his first rescue with us so we called him Big Sam after an old football manager. He is such a lovely gentle soul and we can see his kindness despite the horrific pain he was and is in. He knows he is safe now we think.

A long recovery ahead for Big Sam but we’ll get him safe! 💛

Tough day today with many dogs to help in a bad way but I managed to see an old patient Roberto.

Nothing feels better than seeing a healthy dog who wouldn't have made it without help. In his case some fairly cheap medicines was all he needed ❤️
