"The Rosary is the most beautiful and the richest in graces of all prayers; it is the prayer that touches most the Heart of the Mother of God. If you wish peace to reign in your homes, pray the family Rosary. If you wish for the conversion of sinners, offer the Rosary. It is the chain that links heaven and earth, binding hearts to the heart of the Immaculate. By this holy prayer, Mary protects the Church and her children, even in the darkest of times." - Pope St. Pius X
Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with you.
Blessed are you
among all women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen 🙏
Dios te salve, María,

y bendito es el fruto de tu vientre, Jesús.

WHY THE DEVIL DOES NOT FEAR YOUR DISTRACTIONS AT MASS
Most Catholics worry about distractions during Mass.
Very few worry about arriving spiritually unprepared.
Yet the second problem is far more dangerous than the first.
A distracted Catholic may still encounter Christ.
An unprepared Catholic may stand before the greatest miracle on earth and never recognize its value.
This is one of the forgotten tragedies of modern Catholicism.
We have become familiar with what previous generations considered astonishing.
Consider what Catholics actually profess.
Every Sunday, the same Jesus Christ who was conceived in the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary, born in Bethlehem, crucified under Pontius Pilate, risen from the dead, and ascended into Heaven becomes truly present upon our altars.
Not symbolically.
Not metaphorically.
Not emotionally.
Truly.
The Council of Trent defined this doctrine clearly. The Church has defended it for centuries. The saints gave their lives for it. Eucharistic martyrs died rather than surrender the Blessed Sacrament to those who would desecrate it.
Yet many Catholics approach this reality with less preparation than they would give to a business meeting.
That should disturb us.
The problem is not a lack of intelligence.
The problem is familiarity.
Familiarity is one of the greatest enemies of wonder.
What happens repeatedly can begin to feel ordinary, even when it is not.
A man who lives beside the ocean may stop noticing its beauty.
A person who sees mountains every day may forget their grandeur.
Likewise, a Catholic who attends Mass every week can gradually lose sight of the staggering reality before him.
The Eucharist does not become less miraculous because we become accustomed to it.
The miracle remains.
Our awareness fades.
The saints understood this danger.
That is why they prepared.
St. John Vianney spent long hours before the tabernacle.
St. Padre Pio often entered profound recollection before celebrating Mass.
St. Thérèse of Lisieux carefully prepared her heart before receiving Holy Communion.
They knew that preparation does not make Christ more present.
Preparation makes us more receptive.
This distinction changes everything.
The sun shines whether a window is open or closed.
Preparation opens the window.
Grace enters more deeply when the soul is disposed to receive it.
This principle runs throughout Scripture.
When Moses approached the burning bush, God commanded him to remove his sandals.
When Isaiah entered the heavenly vision, he became aware of his unworthiness.
When St. Peter witnessed Christ's power, he fell to his knees and cried:
"Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man."
The closer human beings come to God, the more seriously they take the encounter.
Modern Catholics often reverse this pattern.
The more frequently we encounter holy things, the more casually we sometimes treat them.
Yet the early Christians would have found our situation astonishing.
Many of them risked imprisonment and death simply to participate in the Eucharistic liturgy.
During periods of Roman persecution, believers gathered in secret. Some traveled great distances. Others celebrated Mass in catacombs among the tombs of martyrs.
Why?
Because they believed Christ was truly there.
Not as an idea.
Not as a memory.
Not as a symbol.
As a living reality.
The question every Catholic should ask before Sunday Mass is therefore not:
“Will I enjoy the homily?”
Nor is it:
“Will the music be good?”
Nor even:
“Will I feel inspired?”
