"Wasting time" might be one of the strangest accusations we've ever invented.

Apparently you can waste 2:00 p.m. by sitting under a tree doing nothing. The afternoon was going to pass either way. The Earth was going to rotate either way. But because you didn't convert those hours into money, errands or improvement, we decided the time itself was wasted. As if simply being alive isn't enough to justify an afternoon.

You know, the human mind is amazing and that’s why I do social science research.

This man right here thinks he said something that he thinks is right and true, but he locked his comments. Why?

Because his true conscience disagrees with his selfish self.

Selfish part of him: ‘The president’s bold and forward-thinking reforms have put our economy firmly on a path of sustainable growth.”

His conscience: “Kai, this thing I just typed isn’t true; the lived experiences of millions of Nigerians say otherwise, and they wouldn’t be happy with me. So, what do I do? I’ll post it anyways, for selfish reasons, but lock the comments.”

We all know what we’re doing.

I’m deeply honoured to have been named Outstanding Youth of the Year 2025 (New Media) by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ogun State Chapter.

The award was presented at the 2026 International Youth Day event on August 27 at the June 12 Cultural Center in Abeokuta, but I was unavoidably out of town and couldn’t receive it personally.

Yesterday, I finally received it at the NYCN Ogun State Secretariat.

Recognition like this is both an honour and a responsibility. I’m grateful for this, and I remain committed to using my voice and platform to contribute meaningfully to Ogun State.

I sincerely appreciate the State Chairman, Oloye Akolawole Shoremi, for his exceptional leadership, as well as the State Secretary, Dotun Opaleye (Zamora) @orladhortun.

Special thanks to you all who made this possible. This recognition is as much yours as it is mine.

@winexviv is doing well, I have been following him closely. The allegation that he dropped a Yoruba person from Enugu to pick his kinsmen is a fallacy and we don't need that distraction. I followed the Olympiad closely.

He has made it very clear that as long as you are schooling in the South East and you qualify, you will be celebrated regardless of your ethnicity.

Alex Onyia should inspire us all to do the same things in our regions across the country.
