In summary, C. fetus is an opportunistic species of Campylobacter which is associated with invasive and endovascular infections in appropriate hosts. It has a protective protein layer which prevents phagocytosis and can contribute to relapsing infections. 13/13
Recall that Campylobacter jejuni is associated with post-infectious immune mediated phenomena including GBS and reactive arthritis. GBS may be associated with specific serotypes of C. jejuni (I did not find any cases directly linked to C. fetus) https://t.co/4ZlP7QHZPI 12/13
