I was in a polygamous marriage.
My husband had three wives, and surprisingly, we lived together fairly peacefully.
Of course, we had our disagreements from time to time. We were different women sharing the same husband and the same home, so arguments were inevitable. But somehow, we had learned to coexist.
My husband was a wealthy man, or at least wealthy enough to maintain a large household.
Each of us had children with him, and everyone had their place in the family.
Then one day, my husband announced that he wanted to marry a fourth wife.
None of us was particularly happy about it, but we had little say in the matter.
Eventually, he married her.
She moved into the house, and we tried to welcome her as best as we could.
Unlike the rest of us, she didn't have a child yet. She was still new to the marriage, although she had already been intimate with our husband.
Then everything changed.
Our husband started falling ill frequently.
At first, we thought it was just stress.
But the sickness continued.
Eventually, after several medical tests, we received news that none of us expected.
My husband was HIV-positive.
The entire house went silent.
Nobody knew what to say.
Fear spread through the family almost immediately.
We all agreed to get tested.
When my results came back, I was negative.
Another wife was also negative.
Then it was the new wife's turn.
She refused.
We initially thought she was simply afraid.
But eventually, she told us the truth.
She already knew she was HIV-positive before she married our husband.
She had apparently known for some time and had chosen not to tell him.

Another year of life, another thousand reasons to say Alhamdulillah. ❤️
This past year has been one of healing, growth, answered prayers and quiet victories. My health has improved tremendously, my heart is lighter, and I am learning to appreciate life in ways I never did before.
I am immensely grateful for the beautiful souls Allah has placed around me. Those who genuinely love me, pray for me, support me and make life's journey a little easier. You are blessings I never take for granted.
I have known difficult seasons, but I have also witnessed Allah's mercy in ways words cannot fully express.
Today, I celebrate life, improved health, peace, love and the woman I am becoming.
And if there is one thing I believe wholeheartedly, it is that MY BEST IS YET TO COME, IN SHA ALLAH.
Happy birthday to me. ❤️
Alhamdulillah for yesterday, today and all that is yet to unfold. 🤲🏽💚
