@MaybelleWickers + and warmly.
She took another small sip of her coffee, placed it down and then dragged a bag of donations towards her. Emptying it, she then began checking every item, folding them and placing them back inside the back once they were checked for stains or tears.
@MaybelleWickers As Maybelle spoke, Chloe could see the pain behind her eyes. There was something haunting her, but Chloe wouldn’t push.
“Whatever you need,” Chloe began in a gentle tone. “I’m sure I can help. I have all the time in the world. I’m not going anywhere.” She said, smiling kindly +
@MaybelleWickers “Oh, wow. Thank you.” She took the drawings from Maybelle and flicked through them, slowly. She took note of every detail, looking at them with careful observation.
“These are incredible.” Chloe whispered. “Thank you so much.”
@MaybelleWickers Chloe’s smile only grew when she saw the familiar woman. She was glad to see her again, even if the two didn’t know each other overly well.
“Hi, Maybelle.” She said gently. “Is-is everything… okay?” She asked, wanting to press lightly in case something was going on.
@MaybelleWickers She tucked the note inside the pocket of her jacket and then sorted through a few more donation boxes. She checked on a few of the women, making sure they had everything they needed first before finally signing out of her shift.
+ sent her a quick text.
[ TEXT : Sister Maya 👯🏼♀️ ]
- hey sis’.
- if you’re not busy, can you come over?
- just you, if possible?
- I need to talk to you.
Chloe hadn’t left the house much since her attack. She hadn’t told anyone about the aftermath of that attack either. Not even @CapDelucaBishop, but it was time to finally come clean.
Pulling her phone from her pocket, she pulled up her sister’s contact details and +
@MaybelleWickers + she sat herself down in an opposite chair, folding a few loose clothing donations.
“We don’t have to talk. I can leave you in peace, if you would like that, too. Or, I can keep you company and we can drink our coffees in silence. There’s no pressure here.”
@MaybelleWickers + made her way back and placed them both of the table. “Let me know if it’s okay. I can make it again if it’s not.” She said, smiling gently at the other blonde.
She didn’t know why the other was here, but the last thing she would ever do is push anyone to talk. So instead, +
@HiddenValiance + a coffee or something?” She asked, finally in the kitchen now and tucking her hair behind her ears.
A nervous habit.
An annoying one at that, too.
“I just don’t get why my case was reassigned…” she said, quietly with a sigh.
@HiddenValiance When Valerie stepped inside, Chloe watched her carefully. She didn’t know this woman and her trust had been broken so many times in the past. She just had to make sure that she was safe.
She moved slowly towards the kitchen. “Yeah, yeah… umm, it’s fine. Do you… do you want +
@MaybelleWickers + I got a /really/ fancy machine so no one has to suffer that pain, too.” She said, laughing ever so lightly after.
“What’s your name?” She asked, her tone still light and gentle. She could see the fear this woman’s eyes held and she was going to help. She had to.
@MaybelleWickers + anyone would be there and that someone knew her name.
The tag, Chloe.
Your name tag…
You’re okay.
Hearing the woman out, her face softened into a warm and comforting smile.
“Come in, come in. But I do have to inform you that our coffee isn’t terrible shelter coffee. +
