WEA made it clear to the Senate and Assembly why it’s #TimeFor20 in Nevada! Great job everyone and thanks for sharing your stories this morning! #NVLeg
The second period of Public Comment is beginning and NSEA is out strong, talking #TimeFor20 and the #RespectEducators Act
Jennifer from WEA: "This is the rainiest of rainy days. It's Time for 20." #NVLeg
Tomorrow (3/1) is a big day for public education, as the Legislature will be holding their first official hearings on the K-12 Budget. This meeting starts at 9AM. Click here to read how to provide public comments. #TimeFor20#NVLeg https://t.co/Tw8ccwMZpT
Educators do so much to help grow the minds of young Nevadans. They deserve our appreciation and respect every day.
Glad to connect with @NSEAOnline, @WEAToday, and the Washoe Retired Education Association and thank them for their work.
@BrittMiller4AD5 1,000+ people on a snowy morning, getting active because what’s been proposed for education isn’t enough. This is just the start. Glad we have you an other true champions of education in Carson fighting for us! #nvleg
@OurTownReno 1,000+ people on a snowy morning…not too bad! Shows that things are going to be different. This is just the start. It’s going to grow from here!
It’s #TimeFor20 at the WCSD Trustee Board Meeting! Thank you to Trustee @Joe4Washoe and Trustee @AdamMayberry for their motion to promote a 20% salary increase in the District’s legislative priorities.
@brettforrest89 @GovSisolak, among other things, lost the education vote. Last election education union knocked doors, phone banked, stuffed envelopes etc. This year, he barely got endorsed and it cost him the election. Hope the political parties take notice.
Congratulations 🎉to Brooke Wheatley, a teacher at @Valley_Vikings who has been named the 2021 Nevada History Teacher of the Year from @NevadaReady. https://t.co/NVw44AiS07
Class size matters. I just wrote a @theactionnet letter: Move SB375 Forward. Use the one here, change it up a little, or write your own: https://t.co/JDIdFALdwC
We’ll be right back where we started soon after. Why are we ALWAYS just trying to survive, NV? The time/energy for us all to get more active is nowhere near the time/energy already spent daily. It doesn’t have to be this way though. Let’s work TOGETHER and change it.

Hard conversations will start as allocations come out. Zoom funding gone, ESL funding slashed, Pre-K programs gone, GT slashed. Friends/colleagues will lose their positions. More relocated as schools lose allocations. Federal aid may fill some holes but is that really a solution?
