To me this separates “fandoms” from gamers. If you’re a tabletop gamer you’ll likely want to try and play multiple games. If you’re just in a fandom you’ll make that 1 thing your entire identity.

This is why I'm wary of calling myself for example a 40k fan even if the franchise effectively expanded into other mediums like literature and computer gaming, I still feel like the actual fans are the tabletop wargame players. It's basic respekt and not overstepping boundaries
