I remember the day Mr Perkins passed away clearly. I was in high school at the time and was nominated to put the #aboriginalflag at half mast as a sign of respect ✊🏽
If we are going to make language proficiency a requirement for citizenship in this country then let’s make it mandatory for us all to be able to first fluently speak the First Nations language(s) of our region, given we are all on Aboriginal land.
