God said to Jeremiah, “Before you were formed in your mother’s womb, I called you to be a prophet to the nations.” You’re going to step into things that God prophesied over you long before you got here, things He’s spoken over your destiny before you were born.
During the 8th edition of Tobong’u Lore (The Turkana Tourism and Cultural Festival) held in Ekales Centre in Lodwar. The Chief Guest was our President, HE @WilliamsRuto .
Kenya is actively engaged in green shipping transition as part of global and regional efforts to decarbonize the maritime sector. It’s against this backdrop,
that I served as a PANELLIST in the ongoing HIGH LEVEL GREEN SHIPPING Conference in Copenhagen, DENMARK.
In support of green shipping transition, Kenya is aligning its policies with global standards and collaborating with international organizations so as to ensure an equitable and inclusive transition to green shipping. The combined efforts, we are undertaking, will reduce the environmental impact of global shipping and promote sustainable maritime practices, while also creating economic opportunities through innovation and new technologies.
I met the President of the UN General Assembly @UN_PGA H.E. Dennis Francis and conveyed to him the warm wishes of the President and people of Kenya.
I thanked President Francis for visiting Kenya during the #UNEA6 in Nairobi and for supporting the agenda of the @KenyaMissionUN.
We agreed to continue working closely in areas of mutual interest including promoting peace and security in the Horn of Africa, addressing the climate emergency including sea-level rise and the threat that it poses to Small Islands States and Kenya’s role in promoting positive climate action. We agreed to harness the promise of the forthcoming Summit of the Future #SoTF to accelerate sustainable development in a way that leaves noone behind, intensify reform of the international system including reform of the global financial architecture and the UN Security Council, and the Global Digital Compact, among others.
President Francis expressed his support for H.E @WilliamsRuto’s request made to him earlier in the year for the strengthening of the @ODG_UNON and promised to work with Kenya and other Member States during the remainder of his presidency and beyond to strengthen the position of Nairobi as the multilateral capital of the Global South.
This morning, I paid a courtesy call on the newly appointed Cabinet Secretary for East Africa Affairs, ASALS and Regional Development Hon Beatrice Askul Moe in her office. We exchanged ideas on enhancing the Maritime cooperation and trade facilitation within the EAC member states. We agreed to work closely together in promoting the best interests of our Nation. Given her expertise and immense experiences in governance and development, I know she will make a positive difference in that portfolio. I wish her the very best in her new role.
Was pleased to host Dr Gilchrist Lokoel and Ambrose Lore Ekunoit, two distinguished professionals from Turkana . Dr Lokoel is a medical doctor currently serving as Chief Officer for Health in the County Government while Ambrose Lore is Director of Planning in the State Department for ASALs. Our conversation centred on building synergies between the County and national government programs while strengthening development planning with a focus on improving access to essential services such as water , education, training and health care among others.
A hearty congratulations to my dear friend , Hon Beatrice Askul Moe, following her nomination as Cabinet Secretary for East African Affairs and ASALs Development. I celebrate her achievement, as the first female CS nominee from my home County of Turkana. Grateful to President @WilliamsRuto for this nomination. I wish her the very best in the confirmation hearings!
My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.
Youths in Kakuma, Turkana County protest against rampant joblessness, accusing UNHCR and other organizations of fostering corruption by overlooking qualified local candidates for employment opportunities.
