I don’t get why everybody is freaking out about this. Even if the pope is wrong (he’s not), the allowance of the death penalty in scripture doesn’t mean it is necessary. Nowhere is its use commanded. It seems a lot of people are simply bloodthirsty, and that’s concerning!

JUST IN: Pope Leo has named Archbishop Viola as Archpriest of the Vatican & Vicar General of the Vatican City State

Viola was formerly secretary of the Dicastery for Divine Worship & is understood as a staunch opponent of the traditional Mass

He is believed to be a key driving force behind Latin Mass restrictions

Time will now tell if he eases the restrictions on private Masses in the Vatican or keeps them in place, along with the existing permission for a very limited number of traditional Masses daily
