Sadly, unlike many other travel companies, Thomas Cook haven't signed up for our comprehensive travel training for head office through to sales. Sounds like they need it most though!

This is somewhat misleading: It should be called 'Uk's most WHEELCHAIR accessible visitor attraction' as it hasn't been assessed for the 92% of disabled people who don't use wheelchairs! Rather disappointing really even though it's great for me...

Information is key for disabled travellers! Google Maps has launched a "wheelchair-accessible" option for six major cities which is great for me. Next we need access information for the other 96% of disabled people..!

So if the aeroplane safety card had been in braille she would have been allowed to board..? She had a braille machine with her, why couldn't a member of staff simply translate it there and then?? Just ridiculous that her trip was ruined.

Great to see the river cruise industry planning for disabled guests... don't forget that excursions are often not accessible though. Make sure you get a professional to audit them and create accessibility there too! #DontLeaveUsOnTheBoat!

When selling holidays images are vital right? So make them accessible to the 285 million people with sight loss AND vastly improve your SEO! Today, Google's search engine results pages deliver just as many image results as they do text-based results.

A photograph to advertise holidays... says it all! But not if you're blind, visually impaired, or are having problems with your internet. Adding alternative text means that not only can screen readers 'read' the image, but its great for SEO too as they are searchable!
