my therapist changed my life when he taught me there are 4 types of conversation:
1) small talk (weather, etc)
2) swapping (you tell a story, I tell a story)
3) listening (you tell a story, I listen/validate)
4) problem-solving (you tell me a story, I help solve the problem)
Someone please explain the neurodivergent experience of feeling like I was mentally older than my peers as a child and now feel mentally younger now as an adult….
telling your brain "i know you don't wanna do the thing and it'll be very uncomfortable for you at first but you can do it buddy. it'll be fine" is actually surprisingly effective. it sounds too simple but that fuckass organ WILL listen to you if you treat it with kindness lol
I believe in re-reading and re-watching your favourite books and movies at different stages of your life. the plot never changes, but your perspective does.
I like this show cause it shows his struggle of not wanting to betray her friendship too.
Also as a girl, I think there is this false idea that if someone develops a crush on you, they were never really your friend and that’s just not true.
