Immigrants make California great.
I will always stand up for families like my parents, who fuel our economy and enrich the vibrant tapestry of our state.
Massive protests have erupted in Nuuk, Greenland following a visit from Donald Trump’s special envoy to Greenland, Jeff Landry, and the opening of the new U.S. consulate.
The scenes stand in stark contrast to the opening of Canada’s consulate in Nuuk, where a large crowd of Greenlanders gathered to sing “O Canada” and celebrate Canada’s presence.
Why I voted for Xavier Becerra:
He’s the most qualified person on the ballot.
Son of farmworkers. Stanford Law. Former California Attorney General, where he sued the Trump administration more than just about anyone else. Then Joe Biden’s Secretary of Health and Human Services, back when they still believed in vaccines and science.
He’s also been a longtime proponent of single-payer healthcare, long before some of these candidates decided it was politically convenient.
But more than all of that, he’s a decent man. After what we’ve seen lately, I need decent.
My statement regarding @XavierBecerra based on actual first-hand knowledge of working closely with him in the Cabinet. He’s going to be a great governor for California.
"Xavier Becerra walked into HHS and went to work for the American people from day one. He took on Big Pharma and won, delivering the first-ever Medicare drug price negotiations and cutting costs for millions of Americans who had been left behind for decades. He expanded health coverage to more than 24 million people and stood up for reproductive rights when they were under siege. That's not a bureaucrat — that's a leader. California needs that same fighter in the Governor's mansion, and I'm proud to stand behind Xavier Becerra."
