This brought tears to my eyes tonight. God has blessed me with a brother I didn’t deserve. Praise God and all those who petitioned Him for us over the years. God is good.
“First of all, I thank God, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for sitting high and looking low.
Man… just think about it. A kid from Florida and a kid from Georgia meet at 18 years old. We swear in right behind each other—you in the front, me in the back. Then we end up sitting on the same plane, and you sit beside me and pray with me because you realize I’ve never flown before.
A young Black kid and a young white boy—and in that moment, there was no race, no color. Just two human beings praying to God for safety.
We went from associates, to friends, to best friends, to brothers. Best men at each other’s weddings. Uncles to each other’s children. Watching our families grow up together.
And one thing I’ll always give you credit for, bro, is your faith.
You had faith when I didn’t. I watched your walk with God even when I wasn’t walking with Him the way I should’ve been. Even when you wandered, I kept praying for you. And somehow, through everything—and even through the wedding—God brought us both back to Him.
Now I can look back and see His plan coming full circle.
We used to sit around at 18, 19, 20, 21 years old talking about growing up, growing old, having families, watching our kids grow up together, and building a life.
And look at us now.
Two kids who came from humble beginnings became two grown men who love God, love our families, and have been blessed with so much.
And that dream we talked about… that prayer we prayed… it’s becoming reality.
So I just want to give you your flowers while you’re still here to receive them, bro.
I love you, bro. I’m thankful for you. I’m thankful for your family. I’m thankful for every year, every memory, every prayer, every struggle, every laugh, and everything God has allowed us to experience together.
You’re more than my best friend. You’re my brother.
And if God allows us to be two old men sitting around one day, watching our kids and grandkids running around, talking about those two 18-year-old kids who had no idea what God had planned for them…
Man, what a testimony that’ll be.
I love you, brother.
Thank you for being my brother.
And above everything else, thank God for writing a story neither one of us could’ve written ourselves. 🙏🏾❤️”
@aas_ker Jesus and the Word of God. What do you have to lose?
I mean… Matthew 5:3, Psalm 34:18 & 51:17, even Isaiah 57:15!
Sometimes the the answer is just that simple and you just have to lean in, ask for help, and listen. This is where my peace has come from.
@scotus_wire Nazi bots out in full force. Recall these are our rules governing foreigners who have either broken our laws to remain here illegally or that we have granted temporary access to, not citizens. Enforcing laws and regulating access to a sovereign nation is now controversial.
Easy solution & unpopular opinion:
Make it a crime with a very serious penalty. If temporary, you are required to report if you’re pregnant and automatic revocation of temporary status if unreported. If unlawful, increase the penalty for unlawful travel.
When the new citizen is filed and you receive the information for the perpetrator(s), enforce the law immediately including deportation if relevant. Then they can decide whether to keep their family together or not, after their lawful sentence.
@WWUTTcom The facts were not honestly reviewed. The way it was written and the additional comments from the author & the Supreme Court from that time were ignored.
The job was to interpret the constitution/amendment. Our law has been deliberately misinterpreted.
Not a critique, just sharing a similar feeling that I have:
For me, the fear of God includes trying to avoid sinning because I don’t want to be separated from Him. I’ve lived portions of my life in separation and I never want to go back to those times. If His will is for me to suffer, I would rather suffer in service to Him than try to find happiness without His presence.
Great comment & perspective! You’re right, the Lord gives & He can also take away. He gives us the breath of life.
When I was Muslim, I would argue & say we had the same prophets as Christians.
But this one broke me:
Surah 17:101: Allah gave Moses 9 clear signs.
I knew the list. The staff. The shining hand. The drought. The flood. The locusts. The lice. The frogs. The blood.
I held onto those 9 signs like proof I had the real story.
But bro, you know what shook me?
There’s a night missing.
After all nine signs, right before Israel walks out of Egypt, something happens that the Quran goes completely silent on.
A lamb is slaughtered.
Its blood painted on the doorposts.
And death passes over every house covered by that blood.
The Passover.
I grew up hearing the whole Exodus story. But nobody ever told me about the blood on the door.
Islam just skips it.
And here’s what wrecked me.
The Bible, the book I was taught was corrupted, mentions the Passover over 70 times.
Exodus. Leviticus. Numbers. Deuteronomy. The Psalms. The Prophets. The Gospels. Paul.
70 times.
So I had to ask myself the honest question:
If men corrupted this book, why would they obsess over the same story for 1500 years? Across dozens of authors who never met?
You don’t forge a document 70 times.
That’s just not corruption.
That to me is preservation.
And then I read the line that finished me off.
1 Corinthians 5:7.
“Christ our Passover lamb has been sacrificed.”
That’s when it hit me.
The whole story was never just about Moses.
It was always pointing to a King.
The final lamb. Whose blood, when applied to your life, makes death pass over you.
Forever.
The Quran gave me 9 signs but hid the one night that explains why any of them happened.
Because the moment a Muslim understands the Passover…
he’s one step away from the cross.
