Jonathan Tah on his penalty: "To be honest, I felt good. I wasn’t extremely nervous, which is what I actually thought I would be, but I didn’t hit it well. I would take one again next time. I think it's important to take responsibility in difficult moments. That was something I specifically resolved to do for this tournament: to take responsibility – and that's why I did it in that moment" [@SPORT1]
@TacticsTI I wonder why Nagelsmann doesn't use his midfield like he did in Euro 2024. Pavlovic (Kroos in 2024) would drop into the back line, allowing Kimmich to push up as a wingback to create from the right side and positioning Nmecha (like he used Andrich) in front of the defense.
@Der_Augustus I really wonder why Nagelsmann doesn’t drop Pavlovic into the backline like he instructed Kroos to do during Euro 2024, and make Kimmich free roam or invert into midfield on the right. This would allow Rudiger to use his pace to defend against top wingers.
@sn5tm25 A loss is always annoying but I’m gonna assume they didn’t give their all for this match. However, Ecuador were relentless and there are lessons to take from this match.
