Huge win in MS! Thank you to Rep. Chris Bell, Sen. Nicole Boyd, Rep. Lee Yancey, & Rep. Sam Creekmore for championing fentanyl testing strips. This will allow Mississippians to legally access fentanyl testing strips so fewer families experience the heartbreak of drug overdose.
@MSStateAuditor@shadwhite brought up an important conversation on fatherlessness, and I hope this story and these stats shed light on one area our laws may be unnecessarily contributing to the problem.

18 years in prison for a tragic stillbirth, even though there's no evidence it was caused by her drug use.
What message does this send to other expectant mothers struggling with an addiction?
Run and hide. Don't tell the truth or you may be prosecuted.

I was homeschooled so I missed out on the DARE program, but my friend Robert Legge made a profound observation:
Why do we have police officers teaching children about drugs when it's healthcare professionals who are trained in this field?
We hope this tragic overdose trend will end but the chances are bleak. Health-centered approaches to drugs are needed now more than ever.

Really excited about this report we just released at @EndItForGoodMS showing how the drug war in Mississippi has failed to deliver on its objectives, and has diverted resources away from solving thousands of violent crimes that remain unsolved. https://t.co/uYgygDiKQL
