Do something today to end compliance with the patriarchy’s rules. Object to objectifaction and fight against the urge to repress assertiveness! Be #noncompliant.
@belivetsgloves This just taught me what a passenger princess is and I'm angry now knowing it's based on strict gender roles. My sister and best friend have that passenger princess sticker on their dashboard of their bfs cars. Disgusting.
@varindeus It's because society has attached gender to sex to the point that humans seriously think becoming sexually mature (man or woman) means choosing either toxic masculinity or hyperfemininity. Nobody wants that, but society is too brainwashed to separate gender from sex. So stupid.
@noplaceforsheep I suspect it's the collision of post second wave complacency & the sticky remnants of female socialisation that breeds discomfort with claiming space for oneself.
Hence, we got 'inclusivity'.
@Slatzism It makes no sense! Give females our own protected space and let the other toilet room be "universal". They are straight up showing they don't care for female safety.
@RadicalRambling The off-topic trash. Treating the community like it's a place for a hobby and not a lifestyle, and not devoting themselves to activism. Too many are here to hop on a trend and not actually reverse their conditioning.
I've gone private to protect myself from mass reporters looking to take down radfem accounts, and I noticed an account following both my pages who advocates he's a supporter of slavery. BLOCK this man if he's following you too.
Supporting BSDM is supporting domestic violence. How can you so eagerly condone violence towards the very demographic (women) you used to aim to protect, @PPFA?
Kim Kardashian said she felt "guilty" after brands dropped Kanye West following his antisemitic remarks.
"I feel guilty that I like, posted something in support of the Jewish community, then people dropped him… And I'm like, 'Is that my fault that like, I posted that? And did that like, push them, and I should have just kept quiet?'"
The concept of socialization has been lost on so many. You may not feel it but the patriarchy is a persistent force that extends beyond gendered violence, it silently exerts control over various aspects of our lives. The patriarchy effectively operates as our puppeteer.
When women lose the right to say "no", how can anyone claim that's humane treatment? How can anybody not only deny this is oppressive, but claim it is an act of FEMINISM or progressiveness to include men in women's safe spaces?
Girls are being made to deny their own self-protection instincts!
“A lot of the natural instincts, those emotions, those kinds of barriers or protective like walls that I had up, that school made it feel like those were bad,” she said.
Men convinced women that shutting up and submitting despite discomfort is synonymous with respect and kindness, and women taught it to their daughters. Female socialization is a conditioning that must be undone if we want any hope in ending a single part of patriarchal dominance.
