Essentially, the Warsay Yikealo secondary school in Sawa is a scheme designed to institutionally facilitate a school-to-military pipeline that sucks senior high school students into the vortex of endless military service.

The remaining 75% (178,535) either return to Sawa for the so-called vocational training, which lasts two years, or assigned to the various units of the Eritrean defence Forces. Very few are assigned to civilian government institutions.

The total number of high school students, who have been forcibly taken to Sawa to undergo a combined military and academic training, is c. 238,035. The average percentage of those who join college is 25% - this would be roughly around 59,500. #EndhighSchoolInSawa
