@ReidemptionMom His lips pursed and he hesitated a moment more, “I’ll go get dressed.” He informed her, “please do as you wish, this is still your home and you’re welcome to it.”
@ReidemptionMom He noticed the momentary fear in her eyes, the look he was so afraid to cause. Enji didn’t want to hurt her, not again, not ever again. So he quietly waited it out and allowed her some time to assess her comfort levels before replying, “anything for you, Rei.” And he meant that.
@ReidemptionMom His brow pinched at her response, he didn’t think that Rei would have wanted anything to do with him nor the home that may have dredged up unwanted memories for her. “Did you… want to stay here?”
@ReidemptionMom “I…uhm..” he cleared his throat and wrapped the towel about his hip to achieve some level of modesty. “I wasn’t expecting to see you here,” it was something of an apology for what would have been a poor welcome home greeting.
“The children were waiting for you at the house.”
@ReidemptionMom -stupefied to find the mother of his children casually standing there. He knew she was being released that day, but he thought she would have gone to the new house and not… here… with him.
“Re-Rei..?” His voice was a lot smaller than he wished it to be.
@ReidemptionMom Enji had just stepped out of the bathroom and having not expected to see anyone, much less his estranged wife, he was crossing the house with only the towel on his head, which he was in the midst of using to dry his hair. Upon turning the corner, he froze, staring wide-eyed and—
@ColdSobaKing “It’s not just for that either, it’s…” Enji’s shoulders sank, he should drop it now. He’s already screwed it up.
“Sorry, I’ll take you back to the dorms.” He started the car and proceeded onto the main road.
He sat in the car, waiting for @ColdSobaKing to answer his phone. Enji knew it was short notice, he knew that Shoto would rather gallivant with his friends (even that unscrupulous one), but this conversation was necessary and had been eating away at him for weeks now.
@ColdSobaKing You don’t have to be married for it to happen.” He said, almost sadly.
He wasn’t looking at Shoto anymore, he was staring off into some unknown memory now.
@ColdSobaKing “Your mother was worth it,” he paused, “our children were.” As much as they hated him for it, as much as there were things he did and said that he wished he could change… He meant it. He loved his family.
@ColdSobaKing - So we had to be mindful of that to avoid harming each other.”
It was stressful the first few times, he recalled, but they eventually figured it out.
@ColdSobaKing Well, shit. He didn’t think he’d have to refer to his own experience.
Endeavour clapped a hand on the back of his neck while he considered how to word it appropriately. “It was… difficult at times.” He cleared his throat, “we have opposing body temperatures and durability.-
@ColdSobaKing “It could be,” he murmured, “condoms are important, contraceptives and awareness of each others quirks and your or your partner’s level of control.”
@ColdSobaKing His cheeks burned, he’d been called out and caught. Though it did save him from having to build up to it.
Like a ripped bandaid.
Enji exhaled a heavy breath, gripping the wheel as he nodded. “Yes.”
@ColdSobaKing Enji side-eyed the books in the passenger seat next to him. Would talking about it only encourage him? Perhaps this whole thing was better left unsaid?
“So… you have no interest in it? At all?” He had to make sure.
