There is very little left not to like about $ALGO at this point:

1️⃣ Painfully bad early tokenomics are firmly behind us, with only ~9% of total max supply left to enter circulation.

2️⃣ While other blockchains are just starting to think about quantum resistance, Algorand is firmly the leader in this space, with the best people in place to stay that way. Algorand’s premier quantum security expert is Professor Chris Peikert, who serves as the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO). He is widely recognised as a global authority in lattice-based and post-quantum cryptography (PQC).

3️⃣ Very few, if any, blockchains can come close to Algorand regarding its decentralisation, coupled with its instant finality and no ability to fork or reorganise its transactions, while at the same time being able to handle 10k+ TPS irrespective of tx type.

4️⃣ 3.7bn+ txns and 65M+ blocks with zero downtime since inception in 2019! Remember, Algorand does not count failed txs or charge for them if they ever happen, as some others do.

5️⃣ Large corporates are already using Algorand, never mind the pipeline.

On Algorand, logic-as-account-authorizer is a primitive account type (Logic Signature.) Among other things, it powers our PQ/FALCON accounts.

Cross-chain account abstraction, soon.

We are working on an EVM-to-AVM account abstraction system. This means that you'll be able to use your Metam*sk, Rainbow or any EVM wallet to interact with Algorand dApps natively.

- SELF CUSTODIAL - your Algorand abstracted account is a piece of code that validates your EVM/ECDSA account signature. Only your private key can authorize transactions.

- ISOLATED - what happens on Algorand, stays on Algorand. You approve Algorand transactions from your EVM wallet in an explicitly isolated Algorand domain (Structured Signing / EIP-712) . This ensures that there are no opportunities for inadvertent crossover - these signatures are useless on EVM else by design.

Algorand Just Plugged Into Real Payments in Kenya

If you want to see where crypto actually wins, do not look at memes. Look at payment rails. That is why Swyptio going live on Algorand matters, because it connects M-Pesa flows to USDC settlement on-chain.

Quick context. @AlgoFoundation is a proof-of-stake blockchain designed for fast finality and low fees. For years, the ecosystem has positioned itself around payments, stablecoins, and real-world settlement rather than only on-chain speculation.

@swyptio is now enabling a practical flow in Kenya. Merchants can accept Kenyan Shillings through M-Pesa and settle in USDC on-chain. That is the key point. This is not “paying with crypto.” This is using crypto as the settlement layer.

Why does M-Pesa matter? Because in Kenya it is not just an app. It is financial infrastructure. Millions of people and a large share of businesses use it as their default way to move money daily.

The post mentions that roughly 59 percent of Kenya’s GDP flows through M-Pesa. That figure is widely repeated but not always consistently sourced. The bigger takeaway is still clear. The share is massive and the network effects are real.

What do “M-Pesa ↔ USDC rails” mean in practice? It means a real bridge between local money movement and digital dollar settlement. That is exactly where blockchain has an honest job to do, because it can make settlement programmable, transparent, and fast.

For merchants, the value proposition is straightforward. You can accept local payments while settling in a stable unit of account. That can reduce friction when dealing with delays, reconciliation, and cross-border value movement.

For builders, it can be even bigger. When you can plug into an existing dominant payment system, you are no longer building inside a closed crypto sandbox. You are building on top of a market where users already pay digitally.

USDC is a crucial piece here because the goal is not volatility. The goal is stable settlement. Stablecoins are the bridge between people pay locally and businesses settle globally, and that is why stablecoin rails are one of crypto’s most scalable use cases.

The real test is execution. On-chain rails do not automatically solve compliance, KYC, liquidity depth, FX spreads, or regulation. Those details decide whether a product becomes a nice demo or a real infrastructure layer.

Still, the direction is very clear. When a chain supports real merchant flows and stablecoin settlement for everyday payments, that is the type of adoption that builds durable value. It is quieter than narratives, but it is stronger.
