When Jesus was dying, He did not cry out that it was ending. He cried out that it was finished. In Greek it is one word, tetelestai, and it was not a whisper of defeat. It was the word written across a bill when the debt was paid in full. It was stamped on a receipt to say nothing more is owed. So on the cross He was not announcing that His life was over. He was announcing that your debt was settled. Everything the law required, He paid. Everything your sin cost, He covered. You are not still working off a balance He already marked paid. Stop trying to add to a bill that says nothing is owed.
Ask God to restore your appetite for life. Your ideas. Your energy. Your curiosity. Your confidence. Your hope for the future. Sometimes you don't need a completely new life. You need to reconnect with the parts of yourself you stopped nurturing.
A girl on TikToķ once said; “This year God grabbed my hand, told me to trust Him, & we just took off running.” & someone commented; “Some days He’s dragging’ me, other days He’s carrying me, but we locked in.” & to be honest… that’s exactly how I feel too. IMMENSELY🙏🏻.
I love David because he was so brutally honest with God about his feelings. He didn’t pretend to have it all together. He cried, questioned, felt afraid, angry and discouraged, yet he kept bringing it all back to God. That reminds me that I don’t have to hide my feelings from Him either. I can come as I am, pour out my heart, ask the hard questions and still trust Him. God can handle the messy prayers too. 🤍
"Because of your little faith. For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you."
Matthew 17:20
