Kevin Doffing, a U.S. Army veteran and CEO of Project Vanguard, is helping shape the next generation of energy leadership in America.
After serving as an infantry officer in Iraq following 9/11, Kevin brought that same mission-driven mindset into the energy sector. A Houston native, he saw early where things were headed and helped launch Houston’s first renewable energy trade group.
Today, he’s building Project Vanguard into a national network of veterans working across energy and infrastructure, with a goal to double veteran representation in the industry. Through his work with Conservative Texans for Energy Innovation, Kevin is focused on making sure the story of American energy is told by the people living it, veterans, workers, and local communities.
We’re proud to have Kevin on our advisory board.
This is about more than energy policy. It’s about workforce, national strength, and keeping the conversation grounded in real-world experience.

Veterans have long understood the connection between national security and energy security. ACP is proud to have welcomed more than 30 veterans from Project Vanguard to Clean Power on the Hill, where they met with lawmakers to advocate for policies that support clean energy.
Led by @EnergyCapHOU, Project Vanguard is helping veterans bring their skills, discipline, and sense of mission to an industry that thrives on all three essential traits.

Dusting off some old slides I came across this infographic I made several years ago when developing the concept of a manufacturing hub for the Houston #Cleantech#innovation#ecosystem.

I ended up bringing the idea back to my dad about taking over his business. To which he quite eloquently and appropriately given my previous dismissive attitude, told me to go flip myself (my words, definitely not his).
What the hell are you doing?!
The common question coming from my friends as I've been explaining my #ETA#Search and #SMBtwit
I've gotten to talk to a lot of folks (some new, some old) about the search process I'm doing to buy a #machineshop here in #houstontx .
I really only learn by screwing up and trying not to repeat mistakes or make ones that would kill me (I've done this with varying rates of success, but still alive so something is working!).
