I was honored to be a part of today’s ceremony to unveil the new statue at the African Landing Memorial at Fort Monroe.

This statue was crafted by Brian R. Owens and is inspired by the first African family and child (Antony, Isabella, and Baby William) in written records of the Virginia Colony.

Virginia will care for this sacred ground and tell its story honestly — not just today, but for as long as this memorial stands.

Friday's State Corporation Commission order on Dominion Energy's transmission case is a big win for Virginians. It directs Dominion to update its policy so that data center-specific transmission projects are paid for by those tech corporations, not ordinary Virginians.

Data centers will drive billions of dollars in transmission projects through 2031. Under the approach we fought for, when data centers are the exclusive reason for these kinds of projects, the costs will be directly attributed to them, not Virginia families and small businesses.
