I have received reports of the private aircraft that conducted a missed approach at approximately 07:43 am local time this morning whilst attempting to land at the Asaba airport and ended up landing on a concrete road still under construction in the Ogwashi-Uku area, near Asaba. Happily, eye witnesses at the scene indicate that all occupants safely exited the aircraft and were transported to Asaba by road. The aircraft had four (4) crew members on board and there were no injuries to them.
I am also informed that the aircraft subsequently departed the location at approximately 11:02 GMT and returned to Lagos without obtaining the requisite regulatory approval. I also understand that Air Traffic Control was notified only after the aircraft had become airborne. In order words, the aircraft had no clearance to take off again.
We view this incident as a serious breach of Regulations and security and the following actions have been taken:
1. Upon its arrival in Lagos, the NCAA immediately grounded the aircraft pending the outcome of its investigation.
2. The NCAA has placed the flight under regulatory review while it conducts further
inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the occurrence and the subsequent unauthorized departure of the aircraft.
3. The NCAA is coordinating with relevant aviation stakeholders, including the operator and the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
4. The NCAA has suspended the operator's permit for Non-Commercial flight (PNCF).
The NCAA will also review all operational, airworthiness, maintenance, and flight-related records as part of its statutory responsibilities and will take further enforcement action in accordance
with applicable aviation regulations.
5. I have also spoken to relevant security agencies and I have been assured that the crew are in their custody and they are assisting them with their investigation.
“Repentant’ Bandits Ambush Nigerian Soldiers, Kill Eight in Kaduna Eight Nigerian soldiers have reportedly been killed in a deadly ambush in Kaduna State by a group described as “repentant” bandits, according to family sources and local reports. According to Sahara Reporters, a relative of one of the soldiers confirmed the incident in a WhatsApp message, saying his brother was among those killed.
He added that families are still waiting for official confirmation from the Nigerian Army. Early reports indicate that the soldiers encountered the armed group while the bandits were allegedly moving to attack communities along the Kaduna River axis, between Chikun and Igabi Local Government Areas. The encounter turned deadly, leaving one officer and seven other soldiers dead. A senior military officer was also reportedly injured in a similar earlier attack by the same group and is currently receiving treatment.”

Sad: Our Children Are Now Pawns in a Deadly Ransom Economy
It’s heartbreaking to report yet another bandit attack on a school, barely three weeks after over 40 schoolchildren and their teachers were abducted and are still languishing in the forest.
The security situation in Kogi State has taken another tragic turn with a brutal bandit attack on Government Secondary School, Iluke, in Kabba-Bunu LGA. Armed bandits disguised in military uniforms invaded the school during an ongoing WAEC examination, killed the Vice Principal, Mr. Gani Anifowose, and attempted a mass abduction of students.
Reports from the scene indicate that local security personnel and vigilantes actively resisted the attackers and frustrated their abduction attempt.
Making educational institutions soft targets is a direct assault on the nation’s future. It creates a psychological barrier to school enrolment and worsens Nigeria’s out-of-school children crisis, disproportionately forcing young girls out of formal education due to fear. There is nothing more heartbreaking for a nation than being unable to protect its children.
My heartfelt condolences go to the family of the Vice Principal, who lost his life while gallantly defending the children entrusted to his care. May God grant his soul eternal repose.-PO
“President should have led the delegation to Oyo. I don’t think the Nigerian government is showing enough commitment to the rescue of the kidn@pped Oyo school children and teachers, and it is very worrisome. Under former President Jonathan, there was one kidn@p and the whole world was in prøtest against the government. Under former President Buhari, in eight years, there were 10 school åbductions. Under the present government, in three years, it has already surpassed.”

Excessive Borrowing Without Accountability: Further Affirmation of Imprudent Governance.
President Bola Tinubu's administration has engaged in remarkably imprudent borrowing, escalating Nigeria's total debt to approximately N200 trillion. This represents an increase of over N100 trillion within a mere three years, a stark contrast to the roughly N49 trillion accumulated during President Muhammadu Buhari's eight-year tenure, which would have projected to around N80 trillion. As millions of Nigerians grapple with the shock of this unsustainable debt accumulation, the situation is exacerbated by the government's reckless approach to borrowing and a profound absence of accountability and transparency in the utilisation of these funds.
For instance, data from the Federation's Budget Office reveals that the Bola Tinubu government borrowed N11.89 trillion in the first three quarters of 2025 (January to September), exceeding the planned borrowing target of N10.34 trillion by approximately N1.54 trillion. Under a responsible and accountable government, such an overshoot would necessitate rigorous scrutiny and explanation from relevant governmental bodies. Regrettably, this is not the reality under the current administration.
Compounding this issue, only N3.10 trillion of the borrowed funds was allocated to capital expenditure during the same January-September 2025 period. This constitutes a mere 17.66% of the N17.58 trillion earmarked for capital projects, leaving a deficit of roughly N14.48 trillion, or 82.34% of planned capital expenditure unfunded.
The most disturbing aspect of the financial management fiasco under Bola Tinubu is that there is no explanation or information regarding how the balance was utilised or deployed. The question that Nigerians are rightly asking and deserve an answer to is what happened to the balance? Was it deployed for recurrent expenditure/ consumption, for the entertainment of guests to Aso Rock or transferred to the Renewed Hope Agenda 2027 Election Campaign Fund? Nigerians deserve an answer on how our economy and resources are most unpatriotically managed.
A New and Productive Nigeria is POssible, and Nigeria will be OK!

PRESS STATEMENT 9th June, 2026
URGENT DEMAND FOR THE IMMEDIATE SUSPENSION OF JUDGMENT IN PETITION NO. FCT/ACET/EP/01/2026: DR. PAUL MOSES OGIDI VS. INEC & 2 ORS
Our attention has been drawn to information indicating that the Area Council Election Petition Tribunal is set to deliver judgment in Petition No. FCT/ACET/EP/01/2026 between Dr. Paul Moses Ogidi and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) & 2 Others.
While we remain committed to the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary, we consider it our duty to alert Nigerians and the international community to a fundamental jurisdictional defect that remains unresolved and which directly affects the competence of the Tribunal to validly proceed with, let alone determine, this Petition.
The crux of the matter is that the Tribunal, as presently constituted, is alleged to be in violation of the mandatory provisions of Section 135(3) of the Electoral Act, 2026, which requires the inclusion of a High Court Judge in the composition of the Area Council Election Petition Tribunal. This issue goes beyond mere technicality; it strikes at the very root of the Tribunal's jurisdiction and legitimacy.
Upon discovering this apparent defect, our legal team formally petitioned the Honourable Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory on 10th April 2026, requesting the immediate reconstitution of the Tribunal in compliance with the Electoral Act. Despite the seriousness of the concerns raised, no response was received and no corrective action was taken.
In view of the continued failure to address this fundamental issue, a further petition was submitted to the Chief Justice of Nigeria on 21st May 2026, seeking urgent intervention and drawing attention to the apparent constitutional and statutory irregularity in the composition of the Tribunal. To date, the concerns raised therein remain unresolved.
Furthermore, formal submissions and communications regarding this matter have been made to various national and international institutions, including the United Nations, the European Union, the Embassy of the United States of America, the British High Commission, and other stakeholders concerned with democratic governance, electoral integrity, and the rule of law.
It is trite law that jurisdiction is the foundation of every judicial proceeding. A court or tribunal that lacks jurisdiction cannot confer validity upon its proceedings by the mere passage of time. Consequently, any judgment delivered by a tribunal whose jurisdiction is under serious challenge may be rendered vulnerable to being declared a nullity.
The decision to proceed with judgment while petitions challenging the Tribunal's composition remain pending before the relevant judicial authorities would raise profound legal and constitutional concerns. It would also create the unfortunate impression that due process and statutory compliance have been subordinated to expediency.
Accordingly, we call in the strongest possible terms for:
1. The immediate suspension of the proposed judgment in Petition No. FCT/ACET/EP/01/2026.
2. The urgent intervention of the Chief Justice of Nigeria and other relevant judicial authorities to determine the issues raised in the petitions dated 10th April 2026 and 21st May 2026 before any judgment is delivered.
3. The immediate reconstitution of the Area Council Election Petition Tribunal in strict compliance with Section 135(3) of the Electoral Act, 2026.
4. The protection of the integrity of the electoral justice system by ensuring that all jurisdictional and constitutional questions are fully resolved before any final decision is rendered.
This is not merely about one election petition or one candidate. It is about preserving the sanctity of the law, protecting public confidence in the judiciary, and safeguarding the integrity of Nigeria's democratic process.
I just received the sad news of the train derailment along the Warri–Itakpe rail corridor in Delta State.
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the families who lost their loved ones in this unfortunate mishap, and I pray for the quick recovery of those injured.
I urge the relevant authorities to investigate the immediate and remote causes of this derailment swiftly, ensure full accountability, and implement measures to restore public confidence in our rail systems. -PO
A Benfica SAD comunicou à CMVM que o Real Madrid CF formalizou a intenção de contratar José Mourinho pelo valor de 15 milhões de euros, tendo o treinador dado o seu acordo.
Obrigado, José Mourinho.
Since you joined this government, you have been signing MOUs and taking plenty of pictures that brings no value to the common man.
The cost of data keeps increasing, insecurity keeps getting worse, and I wonder what you have really achieved.
We are yet to see your comments or interventions regarding the children and teachers kidnapped recently.
You had a golden opportunity and messed it up.
