Good luck for GCSE results Y11! We are delighted by how many of you are pursuing something English-y at A level!
Whether you're staying on or going elsewhere, we are wishing you every success!
We are SO proud of all our Y13s who today receive results for English Language, Literature and Film Studies @CanonSladeSixth. You have worked hard for these results and deserve every success!
We wish you all the best, and are thrilled some continue to pursue English at Uni!
@canonsladey9 @CanonSlade We were really impressed with Y9 yesterday at the enthusiasm with which they approached their sessions. Hopefully they can see how KS3 has set them up for success both in KS4 and beyond. We are already looking forward to seeing them again today for their Literature sessions!
Join us in praying for Year 11 as they start their exams next week. May they know Gods peace and love as they go through this stressful time in their lives.
Sending love and positivity!
Mr Banerji's Y11s have been Determined to Succeed responding to feedback, showing reflection and independence in equal measure. Lots of great work from so many, shown here by Holly!
Mr Banerji's Y10s have done a great job tracking Scrooge's development in A Christmas Carol. They used this to create insightful thesis statements for essays!
Work demonstrated here by Helen and Sam - great stuff!
Miss Forster’s Year 13s are ready for their language mock exam on Diversity; all of this hard work was done by fantastic and knowledgable students 🥰 Good luck Y13!!
Beautiful readers today in the library. Miss Hayes year 7 class. Loved listening to their reading in groups. With my table, set the scene with a Diwali non-fiction book followed by a story. @Eng_CanonSlade@CanonSladeRS@CanonSlade
Loving library time with year 7 English classes. Reading corner treat for two groups from Ms. Todd and Ms Byron’s English class. Reading out loud, discussing vocabulary and enjoying the story. @Eng_CanonSlade@Booktrust book collection is perfect. #readingforpleasure@CanonSlade
Mr Banerji's Y13s have been doing fab work!🥳
They carefully explored the nuances of themes in their Drama texts and how they drive the characters within. Well done - this will really set you up for your mocks!
Miss Forster’s 10c1a have been working hard tracking Scrooge’s journey with the Ghost of Christmas Present. Well done especially to Jemimah A, Lily S, Daniella W and Angel J, whose beautiful work this is. Well done Year 10!
Year 7 classes are in a race to complete as many Accelerated Reader quizzes as they can! Get your class to the finish line by reading a wonderful book, then completing an AR quiz. Well done Ms Pierce’s class, currently in first place 🥇
Mr Banerji's groups have been working on connotations.
In 7b3b, we put Isabelle's work (L) under the visualiser to help us analyse quotes. Meghan (R) shows how we used a model to write it up!
Martha, 10c1b (Below), shows how this knowledge helps develop vocab for writing in KS4!
Ms Pierce’s Year 11s have been involved in a well informed and fierce debate about Macbeth in their Literature lessons - well done for being so engaged Y11!
So impressed by the hard work done in 11c3b’s lesson today - fantastic work from Mrs Hall’s lovely bunch 😍 These in particular were great - thank you Sam M, Poppy D, Brooke W for this wonderful work.
