Perfection is the heavy armor we use to cover our fault lines. But, what if the flaws we try so hard to hide are exactly what make our stories worth telling?
On June 6th, six imperfect storytellers step onto the Engage stage and drop the exhausting weight of expectations and embrace the rawness of the human experience.

Men do not always say, “I am not okay.”
Sometimes they say, “I’m tired.”
Sometimes they disappear.
Sometimes they become funny. Successful. Angry. Silent. Spiritual. Busy. Useful.
Sometimes they function, but are quietly falling apart.
Sometimes they say. “I’m okay.” But they are not.
This June, Engage is looking beyond the strength - and honoring the stories men rarely tell.
What a night. ️ To everyone who showed up and shared the space with us-thank you. Engage. wouldn’t have been the same without your presence and energy. Relive the magic on our YouTube channel. Coming soon.
24 hours to go. Don't wait to hear about it on the timeline when you can be in the room. Secure one of the very last tickets for Engage /mperfection.

Human storytelling is a beautiful art form. You listen to someone’s journey and suddenly, your own perspective shifts. It reminds you of what is happening in the world and sometimes, it is exactly the inspiration you need to change your own. Experience this art live.

Brotherhood and support-Paul Murunga @EngageKE
· Men need fellow men of stature who show up.
· Friends who open their homes for your kids, stand in the gap, and are real with you.
· The audacity of grief tears you, but you need the audacity of fatherhood, brotherhood, and friendship.
· It’s not loud, it’s quiet:
o A father who accepts back home a 49‑year‑old breaking.
o Friends who keep calling.
o A brother who just comes home, makes tea, and is present.
Resilience and Renewal
· “I am in the valley, but it did not end me — it remade me.” thanks @EngageKE
I am here with all the people i work with, i think i took this personal for us as men @ManCaveUg@kyamageroandrew@PyeparFaisal@MensahKodwo@MugaluNathan@Herbert_MugK

"I matter just because I exist." – says Sheila Kirika @EngageKE
She shares the beauty of her new self: excellent but not perfect, kinder to herself, enjoying motherhood and co‑parenting, open to diverse opinions, more authentic in life and friendships.
I observe as a mental health specialist that childhood exclusions which we all could experienced in different ways at different stages in different places leave scars — from “you’re not my friend” to “you don’t belong.”
Without love and belonging, mental health suffers.
We must protect children’s emotional wellbeing, seek help, be kinder, and remind ourselves always like Sheila: "I matter just because I exist". God knows me, loves me and cares about me💜

What was your earliest experience of being completely out of your comfort zone? For Marion, it was being in a new school and she could not communicate in the only language she knew. She had to learn a new language and this was the beginning of a life long learning journey as she stepped into new schools, jobs and life situations. Life is not perfect. We rise and we fall and we learn. Watch the full story on the Engage YouTube channel.
