I observe as a mental health specialist that childhood exclusions which we all could experienced in different ways at different stages in different places leave scars — from “you’re not my friend” to “you don’t belong.”

Without love and belonging, mental health suffers.

We must protect children’s emotional wellbeing, seek help, be kinder, and remind ourselves always like Sheila: "I matter just because I exist". God knows me, loves me and cares about me💜

What was your earliest experience of being completely out of your comfort zone? For Marion, it was being in a new school and she could not communicate in the only language she knew. She had to learn a new language and this was the beginning of a life long learning journey as she stepped into new schools, jobs and life situations. Life is not perfect.
