On August 9, 2014, Outlander premiered. But I would not find it until early 2020, after reading the book. I remember going to a family birthday party and after dinner and cutting the cake, the men all went to the family room to watch a movie and the dozen women, age 16 to 70, were chatting and eating cake when my daughter announced “Mom is binging Outlander”! Almost in unison, most of them yelled “Jamie”! We spent the next hour discussing the show, especially Jamie and the Scot who had captured everyone’s heart with his brilliant portrayal of the iconic Highlander.
