Shobha K. Bhatia, professor emeritus of civil and environmental engineering, delivered two prestigious invited lectures at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, highlighting her internationally recognized contributions to geotechnical and environmental engineering.
The project, titled “Building Blocks: LEGO-like assembly of perfusable ECM cubes to generate tissue-agnostic, suturable, organ-sized, viable and functional grafts” aims to address a shortage in organ transplantation by creating a scalable, on-demand alternative to donor tissue.
