We were pleased to welcome Ms. Larissa Amour, Programme Manager – France at Sistech to the TICO office in Kigali.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity for exchange on shared priorities around women and youth empowerment, skills development, and inclusive economic opportunities.
We presented TICO’s work, with focus on our Entrepreneurial Design Fellowship (#EDF), which equips young people with entrepreneurship skills, fosters innovation, and supports them to develop community-driven solutions.

Ms. Larissa expressed appreciation for TICO’s work and was inspired by the impact of #EDF.
We were also inspired by Sistech’s holistic approach, supporting refugee women through training, mentorship, psychosocial support, and professional pathways that lead to jobs in the tech and digital fields.

The exchange highlighted the importance of collaboration and mutual learning between organizations working toward shared goals.
We sincerely appreciate the visit and look forward to continued engagement and future collaboration.

Yesterday 07 June, our Fruits of Love team in Huye had the privilege of visiting an elderly survivor of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. After learning about her needs, we came together to provide food support and spend time with her.

We discussed scaling TICO ’s flagship initiatives that use innovation and technology to create practical solutions for young people, including the #IKIREZIchatbot and #EDF (Entrepreneurial Design Fellowship).

Our conversation focused on strengthening collaboration in youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, innovation, and skills development to expand opportunities for young people to learn, connect, and grow.
We are deeply encouraged by the High Commissioner’s strong support for our work and his commitment to advancing youth-led innovation.

While technical knowledge is important, employers increasingly seek young people who can communicate effectively, work in teams, solve problems, adapt to change, and demonstrate leadership. these skills often determine long-term success in the workplace.

During our recent Soft Skills Training Program, participants didn’t just learn theory, they actively engaged in listening to different people’s experiences, role plays, teamwork exercises, and real-life problem-solving activities.
These sessions helped them build confidence, improve communication, strengthen collaboration, and better understand workplace expectations.
