Some unusual squad choices sure, but I like the fact that we FINALLY have a coach who has picked the squad he thinks is right for his preferred system. No more shoehorning in top names. No more players that don’t fit the culture he wants.
Bring on the World Cup!! 🏴🏴🏴
According to reports, these players are expected to be left out of Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the World Cup:
🏴 Cole Palmer
🏴 Phil Foden
🏴 Harry Maguire
🏴 Luke Shaw
🏴 Fikayo Tomori
🏴 Levi Colwill
🏴 Lewis Hall
🏴 Adam Wharton
NEW: MBTA confirm $80 return ticket Boston to Gillette Stadium during World Cup, after @TheAthleticFC first reported it would be over $75. Quadruple the usual price for NFL games. No concessions for kids, over-60s or passengers with accessibility needs

The irony is that Wembley is an expensive headache for the FA. They own it and barely break even despite having FA Cup semi finals and loads of concerts there.
It makes commercial sense for the FA to sell Wembley (at the right price), but when they’ve tried there’s been uproar
Who else thinks the FA Cup semi-finals shouldn't be at Wembley? They should be played at neutral grounds like Old Trafford, Anfield, Villa Park, or St James' Park, leaving the final as a Wembley exclusive!
Young England fans should be thankful they never lived through the 2007-2018 era.
This was our level of defending in a World Cup knockout match against our biggest rivals 😂
Journalists have long been the biggest enemy of the England team. Genuinely love it when fans fight back against them and call out their bullshit agendas.
In 2026 there’s no reason for them to have any kind of voice that people actually listen to
England’s biggest concern is CB in my opinion - Guehi and Konsa just isn’t a World Cup winning partnership. But there’s not much choice with Stones and Maguire past their prime/always injured.
Tuchel also loves Levi Colwill. He’s probably considering his bad injury a huge blow
If England win their World Cup group, they’ll play the 3rd placed team in Group K in R32 (probably DR Congo or Uzbekistan), provided they’re one of the eight best 3rd placed teams.
If not, it’s highly likely to be the 3rd placed team in Group I - probably Norway or Senegal
Italy 2021 - By far the most painful defeat. I still think about it
France 2022 - That penalty miss was brutal
Croatia 2018 - Painful but our squad wasn’t that good and we were never beating France
Spain 2024 - Not as painful. We sucked all tournament & Spain spanked us
Apart from his penalty against Switzerland, can anyone tell me what Trent has done in his 34 England caps to warrant such hyperbolic opinion about him missing out?
Southgate, Slot, Xabi Alonso and Tuchel have worked with him every day & have all had some level of issue with him
Still can’t believe that England are going to the World Cup without arguably their best passer. Watching fringe candidates labour at Wembley highlights even more the nonsense of Alexander-Arnold’s omission. He’s a game-changing option from the bench. If you have pace out wide in Gordon/Rashford and Saka/Madueke/Bowen and want to launch a quick counter, TAA can deliver. If England are in a shoutout, he can deliver. Risk/reward. #ENG
@gavstravels Yeh the thought of playing Mexico in Mexico City at altitude, followed by Brazil in the humidity of Miami, gives me the fear. Our fans will be massively outnumbered at both too
My hunch is that the 11 Tuchel picks tomorrow will be a similar team to the one he picks against Panama at the World Cup.
The heat and travel in the summer won’t allow players to play all 8 games, so he’ll want a second 11 he’s tested and can rely on
