Had an absolutely brilliant time at the Cumbria Bitcoin meetup this weekend!
Thanks to @LakeDistrictBTC for organising and to @englishlakes @BenBrry for hosting!

I think what made it even better is that it was hosted by a local Cumbrian business that’s genuinely embracing Bitcoin. I’ve been coming to Low Wood Bay for years, so when I saw they were accepting Bitcoin last year, I was ridiculously excited. Not only because it’s Bitcoin, but because it’s practically on my doorstep. For once I didn’t have to travel halfway across the country to find my people. 😂

Massive credit to the team for backing Bitcoin and helping push adoption forward. It’s so easy to follow the crowd but it’s much harder to be out in front waving the Bitcoin flag, especially up here in Cumbria where there aren’t exactly thousands of us roaming about in the wild.

Also, completely unrelated to Bitcoin, but the spa is top tier 🫧 . If you’re going to orange pill yourself, you may as well do it with a thermal infinity pool and a nice view. ⛰️

If you’re a Bitcoiner and love the Lake District, definitely check it out. It’s great to see a local business leading the way!!

Already looking forward to the next meetup. Although I suspect my partner is delighted I’ve finally found some people willing to listen to me talk about Bitcoin for three hours straight! On repeat!
