We are not slowing down. 🚀
Our Artemis III mission will send four astronauts to low Earth orbit next year to test critical systems needed for future lunar landings https://t.co/G5CkHbQhFR and we’re accelerating efforts to ensure the success of Artemis IV, the first Artemis mission on the lunar surface https://t.co/zEDKEcLpXY.
NASA just shared some major updates on the road ahead for Artemis 🚀
2027: Artemis III tests Orion and two lunar landers in low Earth orbit.
2028: Artemis IV returns Americans to the Moon.
Catch up on today's announcements in this special edition NASA Minute!

Ahh… blue lagoon 🏖️
This deep-blue sea of gas and dust—called Messier 8 or the Lagoon Nebula—is a hotbed of star formation. The young stars within the nebula emit rays of high-energy light, including X-rays shown in pink by @chandraxray.
Ready for an Artemis update?
Tune in Friday, Oct. 23, at 2 p.m. ET (1800 UTC) to hear our latest progress and accelerated plans for Artemis lunar missions.

That's our jam 🎼
Astronomers used @ChandraXray to find out that this radio wave formation, known as the "Treble Clef" thanks to its distinctive shape, was likely caused by an outburst from a supermassive black hole, followed by a collision of two galaxy clusters.
Planting the seeds for deep space exploration! 🌱🚀
Astronauts on the space station are continuing to test ways to grow fresh food in microgravity using plant pillows, advancing @NASAScience_ research on seed storage and crop growth capabilities for future exploration missions.
"I just hear over and over again: 'I felt like I went on the mission with you'."
Artemis II's Jeremy Hansen and Victor Glover reflect on their historic trip around the Moon — and how life on Earth has been since — in our latest Houston We Have A Podcast: https://t.co/jZ9Zm5P8Z8
Some moments are worth floating back to. ✨
When @NASA’s @SpaceX Crew-13 launched on Oct. 1, they brought along a little extra company! 🚀 Meet Lucky, a hand-crocheted golden dragon and the crew’s zero-gravity indicator! These small companions float freely once a spacecraft reaches microgravity, giving astronauts a visual sign that they’re officially weightless.
LIVE: Get a preview of two upcoming spacewalks set for Oct. 29 and Nov. 5. @astro_anil and CSA (Canadian Space Agency) astronaut Joshua Kutryk will use both spacewalks to finish installing solar arrays. https://t.co/mBmrbnL1j4
There's a lot of ground to cover when you're building a Moon Base.
During the first phase of @NASAMoonBase development, robotic rovers will gather new details about the lunar South Pole region, while lunar terrain vehicles will extend the reach of each Artemis mission.
Welcome to the Artemis Accords, Uzbekistan 🇺🇿
Uzbekistan has joined 76 other nations around the world by committing to the peaceful and safe exploration of space. https://t.co/xjbRr1KmLH
The aircraft lineup just keeps getting bigger. ✈️
MAX POWER, a new aerospace expo, is set for Nov. 7-8 @NASAKennedy — featuring flyovers and static displays, including NASA’s F-15, F-18, T-38, and ER-2 aircraft.
Details on how to join us: https://t.co/SPHni2YCxO
While observing the universe, @NASAHubble caught a galaxy cluster smiling for the camera. 😊
The smile lines are arcs caused by an effect known as gravitational lensing, where massive structures warp spacetime with their powerful gravitational forces and act as a cosmic lens.
