@Scaredmess My friend Max's mom died of cancer years ago.
One night while gaming with the boys, one of our friends said, "Hey Max, Knock Knock"
"Who's there?"
"Not your mom"
@IGN My brother and I used to glitch-hunt in the originals. There were some fun ones โ like being able to drive a tank under the map on Polis Massa, or hopping inside the hangar wall on Mos Eisely.
The server issues suck, but the game was always a bit glitchy
@mlaithv One of my largest pain points with Strava is the Apple Watch app and iPhone app can't be used at the same time. You have to choose one or the other ๐ Might be room for you to capitalize on ๐. App looks great
@TheColdOpen19@EmmaTolkin Like any strategy, as more businesses do it, the greater the noise becomes as it becomes normalized, and the goalpost for "unhinged" moves.
Also, we're so culturally addicted to some of these products, that all they need to do is remind us we haven't had our latest fix.
@TheColdOpen19@EmmaTolkin I believe so. All content struggles against noise to be seen. Content that is "borderline unacceptable" tends to get more engagement. Our social norms for businesses are fairly strict, so it's easier for them to create "unhinged" content just by acting like a normal person
@nseizaw@GhostRade They both work and make decent money. They could "fix" the house at any time with a rented dumpster or cleaning service. But really, until they learn to let things go, it'll just end up the same. With hoarding, you can't address the hoard until you address the deeper problems
@nseizaw@GhostRade My parents became hoarders after my sister died in childbirth. They just can't let anything "sentimental" go (and somehow it's all sentimental). It's been 26 years, and deep down I know they'll never let go of their hoard until they let go of their grief and deep fear of chaos
@0xblacklight@thdxr The real difficulty is getting the UX council to hold a meeting to agree to put together a dark mode taskforce where they will spend months arguing over the saturation of a shade of purple in the tertiary dark mode pallette
@fasterthanlime@theprincessxena I made a severe and continuous lapse in my judgement, and I donโt expect to be forgiven. Iโm simply here to apologise
