I backed Massacre Grounds by @demiccomatt. This adventure seems fantastic! Based on their own experiences in AZ and combined with a Weird Wild West vibe. Only 15 days left to support it. Go check it out now!

Encounters from last night's game.
During the past week, Arun Wynn rested and studied an arcane scroll he found and the yellow spell book of Azcuursh the Arcane, hoping soon he would gain enough experience (Wizard Level 1) to be able to use them.
He met up with an old fjell durens (Mountain Dwarf) friend, Thain Dain "Dragonbane" Thundershield, and his companions Aimon Copperhelm and Morlin the Draconian Sorcerer. They had traveled from the fjell duren Kingdom of Stoneforge to seek adventure in the Barrow Moors during the summer months.
While the fjell durens tied one on at the Brazen Strumpet, Arun, and Morlin decided to recruit some additional help. Arun recommended a young knight-errant named Sir Brock Dragonbane, with whom he had adventured the previous week. They also decided to partner with another adventurer in the tavern and settled on the Sylari (Wood Elf) Freelik Glossimir for his wilderness skills.
The next morning, they set out early to reach the High Barrows. Thanks to Freelik, they arrived safely. Once in the area, Arun used his map to retrace their steps back to the last Barrow that he and the two Einmen (Cyclopsmen) had opened before heading back to Peat Mire. They still had some doors to check before marking it off their list as cleared.
As they made their way to the last barrow, they encountered a Brown Pudding. The fight became costly for Fjell Duren's magical hammers (It dissolved the handles), but they eventually reached the barrow and began exploring the last three rooms.
In the first room, Aimon stumbled upon a pit trap while the party was searching burial alcoves. In the second room, Dain was struck by three crossbow bolts upon opening a door to an empty room. The last room's ceiling appeared unstable, but Arun noticed a glint in the rubble. With dexterity, he crossed the room, using a rope for safety, to quickly grab the Amethyst (Gem of Monster Attraction).
The party checked the map and advanced to another barrow, only to find its coverstone pulled off with ropes. They decided to investigate, and upon entering the barrow, they found that it had been thoroughly looted. In a rush, the tomb robbers had left behind a gold ring, which the party discovered when they placed the mummified corpse back in its sarcophagus.
As they ventured further into the High Barrows, the group came across a new sealed mound. Using sledgehammers and a piston, the adventurers managed to break down the stone slab blocking the entrance. Upon descending the stairs, they discovered a small chamber adorned with two statues, each with emerald eyes. Eager to obtain the gems, Arun, Dain, Aimon, and Freelik removed them from the statues' eye sockets. However, as soon as the gems were removed, each of the characters fell victim to a dark curse of blindness (referred to as the Dark Curse of Set). Thinking quickly, Morlin sought the help of Sir Dragonbane to transport them outside, where he painstakingly performed a costly teleportation circle ritual in the hopes of getting them back to Peat Mire. (Despite my unlucky streak of encounters rolls while they carried the cursed gem) Morlin's ritual was successful, and he managed to teleport them back to just outside of Peat Mire in the Schwarzwald Woods.
After paying a high price to the Shrine of St. God for "remove curse" spells, and later for another "remove curse" spell on the Gem of Monster Attraction, the party detected magic, identified, and sold off the treasure they didn’t want to keep. Then, they made their way back to finish out the previous barrow.

The players had an enjoyable time exploring the High Barrows in the Barony of Nebel Moor last Friday. I'm looking forward to seeing what else they get into in the Barrow Moors this coming Friday.🤘🏻
