I love football. I love late drama. I love comebacks. I love knowing that anything is possible and feeling like we’re watching a steady stream of some of the greatest games ever. I do not love how we are expected to ignore the inconsistencies in officiating and the interventions from VAR, which have largely been heavily weighted towards certain teams and its players. If you’ve watched and followed everything in this World Cup and are still subscribed the idea that it’s all fair, delusionville must be a lovely place to reside.
Journalists will ask Ronaldo a personal question “what next for you” “how do you feel” “you & Messi rivalry bla bla ” etc
He’ll answer the questions, Fabrizio & co will post his answers without the questions & context making him seem crazy.
We see y’all. He’s still the GOAT🐐
One thing I learnt about Ronaldo is that if he wasn’t a self Appraisal person they would undermine every single thing he did. He’s the only one in football world that brags about himself and his achievements because every other person, journalists pundits and all are trying to make sure he’s achievement are worthless.
he's truly not the player he was... the cristiano ronaldo we know would have looked straight into your eyes and tell you he'd score!
what a time, what an era ❤️
It’s simple: After the last World Cup, the media expected a consensus acceptance of Messi as the better player. Didn’t happen that way because a lot of people still prefer Ronaldo. So this year it has been full on hate, and disrespect. That’s why the campaign against him is so coordinated.
The BBC commentators in this Portugal-Croatia game have spent most of the match trashing @Cristiano and saying he should come off. Then he has a brilliant goal narrowly disallowed, and scores a superb penalty. And they’re STILL saying he should do more. Pathetic.
Michael Jordan never got taken off with the game on the line. When push comes to shove, you need Lebron James out there. Argentina wouldn’t dare take Messi off to increase their chances of winning.
Portugal did that to Cristiano Ronaldo today. And there is nothing wrong with that. They needed the team to win. He is just another team member like Conceicao said.
This is what separates him from the GOAT illusion his fans insist on. Portugal’s greatest moments happen to find him on the bench. Not because he is a bad player but because Portugal are simply better with him motivating them on the sidelines.
My spouse saying to the four year old about his brother, "He is telling you about it because he's excited, not because he thinks you don't know." And that, my friends, is also a lesson I need to hear.
