That’s how we can grow and generate more 💰 for animal rescues 🙏🐶
Imagine being forced to give someone 6.2% of your paycheck, every single check, every month, for 30 to 50 years of your life.
And that person said, "Don't worry, I'm holding this for you and will pay it back to you on a monthly basis, when you retire at 65."
And then they said, "Nah, just kidding. I meant when you retire at 67. And at that time, I'll only give you 70% of what you paid me."
And then they said, "Oops, I spent all your money. You're out of luck."
That's the U.S. government.
Today is #WorldGiraffeDay 🦒
Giraffes are the world's tallest living land mammals, reaching heights of up to 18 feet. These gentle giants are highly adapted to their savannah habitats, featuring unique biology ranging from enormous hearts to tongues that help protect them from the sun.

They have the same neck bones as humans: Despite growing over 6 feet long, a Giraffe’s neck contains exactly 7 cervical vertebrae, just like a human's. The difference is that each of their bones can stretch up to 10 inches.
Their tongues are sun-protected: A Giraffe’s tongue can grow up to 21 inches long and is typically dark purple or blue. This dark coloration is thought to act as "sunscreen" to prevent the tongue from burning while feeding all day.
No two spot patterns are identical:Similar to human fingerprints, every Giraffe has a completely unique coat pattern. These patches not only provide camouflage but also act as "thermal windows" to help regulate their body temperature by directing blood flow.
They barely sleep: Giraffes spend most of their lives standing up ~ they even sleep and give birth on their feet. Because standing leaves them vulnerable to predators, they only take short, sporadic naps totaling roughly 30 minutes a day.
They get most water from food: Drinking is incredibly dangerous for a Giraffe because it requires them to awkwardly splay their legs. Luckily, they only need to drink once every few days, as they get most of their required hydration directly from the plants they eat.
With this hot weather lately, remember your pets!
Golden rule of thumb: If your feet don’t touch the pavement or surfaces because it’s too hot, neither should any animal.
@District1S Why is euthanasia being treated as the only option when Arizona law provides other options? PLEASE HELP US #SAVESNUGGLES!https://t.co/mB0D0uFc8g
Lucy is getting used to her muzzle. She actually has started stepping forward when she sees me pick it up, because she knows that means we're going outside.
A muzzle definitely beats euthanasia.
Give Snuggles a chance.

🚨DEATH SHOULD NOT BE THE ONLY OPTION FOR #SAVESNUGGLES.
I keep coming back to one simple question:
Why is death the only option?
Snuggles is a 2-year-old family dog. His dad is a military veteran, and he has a mom and two small kids waiting at home for him.
He has now spent nearly 8 months sitting in a shelter kennel while his family fights to save his life.
Yet the government continues to pursue euthanasia.
No matter where you stand on this case, we should all be asking whether other options were ever seriously considered, like a secure harness, a muzzle when needed, stronger fencing, additional containment, behavioral management, and supervised handling.
There are ways to protect the public without killing Snuggles.
Please respectfully contact Pima County officials and ask them to explore alternatives.

I want to introduce you to Steve. He’s 83. His wife died a few months ago and he comes to this lodge in Spring Mill, Indiana and draws. He taught art in Terre Haute, IN his whole life. He also did courtroom sketches in court cases. In the comments I’ll share some pics from his sketchbook. He was excited when I said I was going to share his sketches with the world.
🐾 JUSTICE FOR MAMA MAISIE 🐾
On Wednesday, June 10, Mama Maisie was walking near Hawkes Pond in Saugus, Massachusetts, when an unknown man approached, picked her up and ran into a heavily wooded area.
Her foster mom chased him and called 911, but he disappeared.
Police, volunteers and strangers searched for Maisie for hours. Flyers were shared, businesses checked surveillance footage and social media helped spread the word.
The next evening, they received the devastating news that Maisie had been found deceased in a pond.
Maisie had already survived cruelty before being rescued, yet she still loved and trusted people.
Saugus Police are actively investigating. A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
Someone knows what happened.
Please share and help us get justice for Maisie. 🕊️❤️🌈

For nearly 8 months, Snuggles has sat in a shelter away from his military veteran family, his mom, his dad, and the two little boys who love him.
If you've been following this case and wondering how to help, this is it.
Please take two minutes to make one phone call or send one email.
Every call matters.
Every email matters.
Every voice matters.
Let's show them the world is watching.

🚨 SAVE SNUGGLES: Court Orders Euthanasia of Military Veteran’s Family Dog
Snuggles is a 2-year-old livestock guardian dog belonging to a military veteran and his family in Tucson, Arizona.
He lives with his mom, dad, and two young children who love him dearly and see him as their protector and best friend.
Snuggles is now sitting in Pima Animal Care Center after a court ordered euthanasia ruling following a bite incident that occurred on his family’s property while he was on guard duty.
He has now been sitting in the shelter for AMOST 8 MONTHS away from the family he has known his entire life.
According to the family, this was Snuggles’ first bite incident.
The bite victim was the children’s grandmother, and she is also fighting to save Snuggles and bring him home.
The family believes Snuggles is being misunderstood for doing what guardian dogs are bred to do: protect their home and family.
Snuggles is not a monster. He is a working guardian dog with a family desperately fighting for his life.

I wanted my NC representation to see this @iamrodneysmith Young people from all over the country participate by mowing lawns, shoveling snow, etc. to help neighbors in need. It would be great to see for America 250! 🇺🇲
Dear @WhiteHouse, my name is Rodney Smith Jr., founder of Raising Men & Women Lawn Care Service in Huntsville, Alabama. Through our 50 Yard Challenge, over 6,000 kids across the country have signed up to mow free lawns for the elderly, disabled, veterans, active-duty military, first responders, and single parents. With America celebrating its 250th birthday this year and me also being born on July 4th, I wanted to humbly ask if a few kids from our program and myself could travel to Washington, D.C. to help mow the White House lawn for this historic celebration.
More than anything, I want these kids to see how a simple act of service something as ordinary as mowing a lawn for someone in need can lead to extraordinary places. What better lesson in community service than showing them that helping others can take them all the way to our nation’s capital? I’d also love to bring my American flag-themed mower in hopes that the President might sign it, so I can later auction it off and donate 100% of the proceeds to a nonprofit supporting veterans. It would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to highlight the importance of service, patriotism, and the impact young people can have when they choose to make a difference. 🇺🇸
@kgun9 Two little boys are waiting for their best friend to come home. We'd be grateful if you would consider covering the #SaveSnuggles story.
