Just won my first serial in Florida @ the Versus Games Regional with a Top 8 finish, honestly I don't even know what to say, the feeling is surreal. Huge thanks to the 🇵🇷 community for all the support, my team and, all those who traveled with me.
Thanks to @Impact_onfire and the Dojo community, the sheer amount of content in there definitely helped me understand, and mentalize the concepts for every matchup.
Also got a X-2 run in the Friday TC getting a T64🙏
This is my first serial but won't be the last. It was super nice hanging out with everyone and all those who came by to say hi, see yall in the next event 🤧
MY FIRST ONE PIECE COLLAB! GRAV BLADE! GUFFY!!!
Over the last two weekends I have been fortunate enough to go 23-3 in my Swiss rounds of official tournament play with GUffy.
A lot of love and a lot of questions have reached my inbox since then on the deck, the decklist, how to use certain cards, etc.
I was fortunate enough to sit down with my wonderful friend, Jacobi, who many of you know as @Vampyrgaming, to discuss the deck, the decisions behind cards like Gravity Blade, and overall deck strategy/how to win.
If you want to play GUffy, this video is a great place to get some extra opinions on the deck, how it works, and hopefully a few fun moments in between!
Thank you again Jacobi for having me, you are the best and sorry for talking a lot haha, I just get super excited when talking about this deck. I hope we get to do more collabs in the future!!
Vampyr is def one of the most knowledgeable creators in the One Piece game, if you want good content to actually LEARN, he’s the guy!
NIKA SERIAL WEEKEND REVIEW & STORY-TIME
The best part about One Piece is more than just the tops!
This weekend I was lucky enough to have a crazy run across 3 days, going undefeated in Swiss on Saturday, Top 8 on Sunday, and I went X-1 (X-2 sort of? Will make another post about that later) in Friday’s TC. But that wasn’t even the best part of the weekend.
The best parts:
1. Probably the highlight of the whole weekend was 3 straight days of being at top tables with my best bud, Jonathan (he’s a boomer and doesn’t have twitter) all weekend. We took pics every time we reached table 5 and above together, I got to watch as he went 2nd place on Friday at TC and then we went topcut together Saturday/Sunday.
Playing cards all weekend is cool, getting to do it with friends is the coolest.
2. On Saturday in round 7 I had the pleasure of meeting and playing @SantiagoMunozOP, who is an absolute beast and played the cleanest game of all my opponents on Saturday. I hit a nasty Grav blade/Mr.3 combo and was able to take the game, but Sunday Santi’s haki was the strongest and I got to watch a new friend go win the whole tournament for his first regional win!
On Saturday I played and beat 9 people. The majority said GG and then proceeded to grumble about bricks or missing curve or that they hope their standing isn’t ruined. The interesting thing about going undefeated is you are ruining every one of your opponent’s undefeated streak.
The one who at the end of the game smiled as the game finished and started chatting about what a fun game it was, instead of saying where things went wrong, was Santi. He genuinely was just enjoying playing some cardboard (it’s just cardboard guys). Completely well deserved regional win, absolute beast. and a great dude to go along with it.
3. I fucking love my One Piece communities, especially the one I have here in Mexico, holy cow, but also the Wisdom Path and Chinoize Cup.
I felt nothing but love and support with a billion messages in WhatsApp/Discord with congratulations and kind words after my run on Saturday cheering me on for Sunday. It genuinely meant so much and helped energize me Sunday when I was running on 3 hours of sleep.
Especially todo mi gente en CDMX, I wouldn’t be in this game without everyone in this city, meeting so many cool new people every weekend, everyone who welcomed me in when I started playing back in September, and I just am super grateful to have such great people around me to enjoy and keep learning this great game.
4. My Puerto Rican hermanos who sent so much love from the island all weekend and when I was on stream, and making sure the casters had the right flag—but they deserve their own post later this week for the pride I felt to be Puerto Rican this weekend, so more on that later.
Overall just super super grateful and appreciative of all the love and support I felt this weekend, the best part of One Piece is really all these moments we get to live in between rounds. I can’t wait to do it all over again next month, THE ONE PIECE IS REALLLLL!
I played Enel today.
My thoughts on Enel:
This deck is no longer the top deck. You no longer need to tech for mirrors if you want to win. The deck needs to play a more tempo gameplan and focus less on trying to outgrind and remove everything. I played a lot of fast games with my aggressive version. I played very little actual value and played with few cards in my hand. Just trying to snowball an advantage.
I think this list will get smoked by the old Enel lists, however I don’t think the old Enel lists are going to be beating the Galdino+Marco Nami lists consistently.
Adapt or die.

PSA for all Non-Puerto Ricans:
Testing with Puerto Ricans will result in all of you betting large sums of money instead of friendly testing to prep for the upcoming regional, and you will end up talking mierda in Spanish about how everyone else is trash and you’re the best Puerto Rican.
Proceed with caution.
Un Nika va a regresar a PR este finde ya tu saaaabeeeee
Seeing people consistently perform in card games has always been so inspiring.
It dispels the “it’s just luck/out of my control” mindset and pushes people to believe they can improve, perform better, and find the edges.
You start thinking:
"Oh damn, It's actually possible"
Forgot to post my Store CS win this last saturday on Enel⚡️ Finally got that Croc and Nats Invite after bubbling out on the last CS.
Now to get ready for the Regionals next month.
